Seriously why do you guys do it? You know he's been running from top opposition for years and only steps up to fight Mosley once his gray hairs started showing. Are you that much of a fan that you're blinded ? Or do you realize that it is in fact truth that he ducked and doged fighters and years but yet your stubborness makes him defend him? Back in the day some 10+ years ago Floyd did in fact challange himself but then something happened along the way and it stopped. Whether it was him making enough money or maybe the first Castillo fight who knows but I'm just very curious as to why do you keep defending him? Let's keep this mature please no name calling.
Simple....how many elite American fighters are there? Mayweather would have had a job as an elite dishwasher if he had been pro from 1975-1990.
So you're saying America needs a boxing hero and since it's slim pickings these days they picked Floyd? You're kinda right when I think about it. It was always the flashy fast cocky type that people worshipped. Ali Leonard Roy Jones and now Floyd. With each generation the figther seems to have more bark than bite.
That plays a large part in it. I mean, outside of Floyd, who is there? Chad Dawson is flawed, there is NO American heavyweight contender, guys like Tavoris Cloud ain't cutting it, Pavlik is limited, Roy is finished, Bernard is finished, Devon Alexander might cut it but not just yet......and the Super 6 guys have had so-so results, with possibly the worlds best 168lbr not even in the tournament.
I could be a master sprinter if I went and competed in the special olympics. It's the competition what determines true mastery.
I think at least a portion of those supporting PBF are simply gullible enough to believe that a win over JMM means anything, or that the little dance that PBF does with his uncle means he's a genius. A main reason PBF talks so much is that he's insecure. But another reason is that he hasn't made his case in the ring in a long time. And so he must take every opportunity to do so through the media. Obviously, PBF appeals to hundreds of thousands of fans who don't regularly watch boxing. And as casual fans, they don't keep up on real boxing news either. So their information comes main-stream outlets that frankly do not do their homework, but rather share in the ignorance of their viewers. Just consider how hostile and defensive PBF is with boxing-specific pundits and writers, compared to his temperment when he's talking to members of the main-stream media. PBF depends - he depends - on the ignorance of casual fans and mainstream media to perpetuate the myth that he's come anywhere close to proving he's as good as he says he is.
Floyd has more detractors than fans. People go to see him lose, just like the case with naseem hamed.
Undefeated. And we know that counts, right? Floyd has made a career out of it. By fighting guys under terms and conditions which drastically reduce the chances of his losing. Which kind of answers the OP.
The Bika-killa was really KO'd by Andrade though Irishman,.. it doesn't matter if the clock struck 1 at the time,.. he was gone,.. he was deceased, and if it had not been for the interjecting cow-bell,.. the ref would have had no choice but to wave his arms. The rematch was mandatory.
Bute certainly shows promise. His last opponent wasn't much, and you could argue the one before that was somehow tailor made for him. And three fights ago, he was KTFO, in my opinion. But Bute shows promise.
People defend Fraud the same way people defend Pedquiao, it's groupiesm at it's core, which means the sport can go and fuck itself, for the benefit of one corrupt little regiume.
Pacquiao is the "paper" P4P champion. Mayweather has never been beaten and so the "linear" P4P title stilll resides with him. :kidcool:
Bottomline line is...no one is P4P until they've beaten the one that they call Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Pacquiao? Ask Marquez and Morales if he's really the best fighter on the planet! sheeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! :kidcool:
Floyd fans should do the right thing and forget the bout ever occured instead of bringing it up as an example of superiority over Pacquiao
word :: this BOSS cat don't know nuth'n. shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :kidcool:
I'll give Floyd credit for JMM win if JMM beats for example Cotto at welterweight or hell if he beats ANYBODY at welterweight.
Well Mosley just annihilated Margarito who annihilated Cotto. So when Floyd annihilates Mosley...you'll give him credit?
