I ride very few bandwagons. Phil Davis, Tyron Woodley, Aoki, Aldo and Cain is about it.

Cain I didn't jump on until recently, I was a skeptic since his debut. That's Cain for you, highly touted on the MMA underground before he even made his debut in the UFC. I was watching but not until I've really taken his career into context have I realized how special he is.

A friend of mine went down to the bay area for a training session(Josh Thompson sparring partner). He came back and told me about Cain Velasquez. It was before he was in the UFC. Told me about out good his standup was especially for a HW. Told me his wrestling was unreal. Then told me he had no doubt that Cain would be UFC HW Champion within 5 - 7 years. I ain't saying TLC is right, I'm just sayin.....:kidcool:

I think all four of those guys could fight each other and all come out out with different outcomes. The rematches would be different as well.

fedor is smaller than those cats and in recent years, his face has been prone to easily bruise up and you could tell from his last fight how easily he's susceptible to cuts. shit, against rogers, his nose busted right open from the first punch landed from the first 5 seconds of the fight.

  6. joony

    joony "Twinkle Toes" McJack

i agree. those fights can all end in one punch, but going in to each fight, everything's up in the air.

Nobody knocks out JDS with one punch. That guy is a beast

i'm hoping that fedor will continue to beat up on mediocre opposition while his latest victim rises to the top. i'm expecting rogers to knock the shit outta overeem in May and would like to see him go to the UFC and become a force to further enhance the legacy of the great fedor!

he is a beast, but would you be all that surprised if someone like carwin took his lights out w/ one punch? i mean, i'd be a bit surprised, but hardly shocked. it happens.

Seriously, that's just a foolish statement. JDS is a badass. But if any four of those HW's land a bomb on the chin, somone is going to sleep.

I was hearing about Cain beating up EVERYONE at AKA for quite a while. This guy is for real. The only guy I see beating Cain is Lesnar, to me they are very similar only Brock is a better wrestler and has power in his hands, something Cain seems to lack.

Now how in the fuck can TLC be all over Cain's nuts and hate Lesnar. It makes no sense. They are very similar in the way they fight. Both come from wrestling backgrounds and both look to put you on your back and pound you out.

    then you're picking fedor.

If Fedor wins he can say "Yeah, I knew he would win"

He is the Emanuel Steward of Fightbeat. No matter what happens, it was just like he thought.

It wasn't the pro wrestling except in the case of Benoit perhaps due to the brain damage, but most of the others were DRUG OVERDOSES. In MMA, you could get a broken neck and be paralyzed. There's also the potential for brain damage.
That has happened in at least two instances in the last year for MMA. In pro wrestling, you die if you overdose on drugs or your feather boa unclips your harness and you fall out of a helicopter.

Sure, go ask Droz what happened in a WWF ring that led him to become paraylzed. Go ask Brock Lesnar what almost happened when he went for the shooting star off the top turnbuckle at Wrestlemania.
Go ask Benoit's dad what happened to his son's brain after repeated head trauma, much of it the result of taking chair shots in a WWF ring.
Sorry Buddy, but you are wrong on this one.
People have gotten badly hurt in the wrestling ring which often lead to medication which became addictive to the point of overdose.
Pro wrestling is just as if not more dangerous.

Wow, look at Hanzy becoming a mentor to the board's youngest new member. Anybody want to let the little lad know that Hanzy was REALLY nice to the previous youngest member michaelmeyers...right up until Hanzy said he was going to the kid's house to "sex him up" I believe the quote was. :hump:

He had that cut before the fight, Rogers just re-opened it. Someone here posted a picture from the fightcamp360 and you could see the scar on Fedors nose, while he's training.

Because he's damaged goods, Hanzy. He got knocked out BIGTIME by Dos Santos and looked like crap against Antonio Silva his last time out. Fedor will batter him.

Do you have any idea what that kid was up to, outside of FightBeat? The kid was making a game out of going behind his friends' back and f*cking his two sisters and his mother.
Would you want michaelmyers coming to your house and f*cking Natasha while you're at work?
I did FightBeat a favor chasing that little clown off here.

  22. Buddy Rydell

    Buddy Rydell Boxingpress Alumnus

No no, even though Fedor's fights have been against actual combatants fighting back, TLC thinks Brock has had it tougher because he rolled around and playacted against Kurt Angle, Doink the clown, and Shawn Michaels.

  23. Buddy Rydell

TLC loves quoting me out of context: at the time, I said that Fedor had more mileage on his body based on his real fights and training than Lesnar did for squashing guys who weren't actually fighting back.

Same old Hanzy. You know, it looks like your smacktalk in the MMA Forum should be brought to the moderator's attention. I hear he doesn't put up with that very much. [IMG]

I don't know. I've seen the life of a wrestler and they're pretty f*cked up with the kind of lifestyle they lead. You cannot be serious if you think Lesnar had it easy in many of those matches where he had to get hit with chairs or get suplexed or bodyslammed hard by his opponents night after night, 300 days a year. Wrestling is very tough on the body and well being.

  26. Hanz

    You didn't answer the question I see.

If Lesnar was one of the smaller ones, then I'd probably agree with you. However, for each time he wrestled around with The Big Show or did a shooting star and landed on his head, there were dozens and dozens of times that he did squash matches against jabronis.

He wasn't getting bodyslammed or suplexed unless it was against the strongest guys. Usually he WAS the strongest, I'd bet. His gimmick was that he was The Next Big Thing, doing squash matches against overwhelmed and smaller opponents who weren't supposed to offer much resistance. Otherwise it would have detracted from his gimmick.

Because you and I both know that she wouldn't be at home and she wouldn't be spending time with someone half her age. You tossed that out there to get a free shot, and you got it in there. Don't pretend you were telling a teenager that you were going to rape him because you were thinking about other forum members' families, Hanzy.

Lesnar getting hit with a folding chair isn't as demanding as Fedor taking repeated kicks and punches from K-1 strikers like a prime Crocop or a prime Semmy Schilt. Plus, Fedor was fighting in Japan for most of that time, and if you've looked at Alistair Overeem, you know they don't test for drugs with any degree of realism in PrideFC or K-1.

True but he took his fair share of bumps. That's my point. Even the Undertaker when he came in 1990 did nothing but squash matches as he played the part of an invincible force. But he still got his collar bone broken, his knees f*cked up, and everything else. The bump and grind of the 300 day rigorous WWE schedule is nothing to laugh about.
