If he's making(once all the ppvs and gate is tallied) roughly in the $40 million range just from a single boxing match, doesn't that make him the highest paid athlete in the world? Which athlete is making more? Not including endorsements. If he fights Pacman this year, that would mean Floyd is involved in not only the 2 richest fights of the year, but he takes home somewhere in the proximity of what? 70-80 million? Not even Tiger Woods can claim that in a single year I don't think.
Due to my bias, I refuse to call Tiger Woods an athlete. Golfers are not athletes. Boxers are. I think Tiger made 9 figures a couple years back though.
mayweather jr cant compare to woods when factoring in endorsements. prior to woods transgressions earlier this year, of course
Pacquiao's official earnings: $27.5M in last 2 years abs-cbnNEWS.com Posted at 03/16/2010 10:32 PM | Updated as of 03/19/2010 6:54 PM Manny is taking home big bucks... http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/03/16/10/pacquiaos-official-earnings-275m-last-2-years MANILA, Philippines – Even before his successful defense of his title against Joshua Clottey, 7-division champ Manny Pacquiao had officially earned a total of $27.5 million or P1.2 billion in the last 2 years. Based on records of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Pacquiao earned $3 million against Juan Manuel Marquez in March 2008; $3 million against David Diaz in June 2008; $6.6 million against Oscar de la Hoya in December 2008; $7.4 million against Ricky Hatton in May 2009; and, $7.5 million against Miguel Cotto in November 2009. The total amount of $27.5 million does not include Pacquiao’s pay-per-view earnings from these fights. In his fight against Cotto, Pacquiao reportedly got a $10 million share from the 1.25 million pay-per-view buys the fight generated.
who? And that is not his salary but including endorsements. Schumacher used to have a high contract when he was driving for Ferrari but counting only the salary that comes with the sport ONLY, Floyd would have the highest paying year IF he lands the pacman fight. I think Woods used to make 100 mio but that included at least 50% endorsement.
True, and now he is driving Rally. If you count the incomes from advertising, Beckham is in his own league now that Tiger lost plenty of sponsors
I find your sig pic fascinating mate,.. it doesn't quite look like reality, yet it looks just a touch too realistic to be a video game screenshot.
Floyd makes near that in one fight. And say if Floyd was to fight Pacman THIS year, that means in one year, he'll have made more than any superstar athlete, not counting endorsements/sponsors. DLH made $50+ million for the Floyd fight though in 2007.
How about Xyience? :: Yo, check this sh*t out! Great for a laugh! http://www.uproxx.com/feature/2010/03/10-ufc-sponsors-who-make-me-embarrassed-to-like-ufc/
