1. Now that Shogun is the champ at 205, he should most likely make his first title defense against the winner of the upcoming Evans\Rampage fight. What fight would you guys rather see, Shogun vs Rashad, or Shogun vs Rampage in a rematch from their Pride days? 2. Josh Koshcheck will now be getting the next shot at GSP. Have you seen any improvement in Kos since the last fight that makes you think he will fare any better his 2nd time around? 3. After beating Patrick Cote, Adam Belcher called out Anderson Silva. Obviously, that's not gonna happen any time soon. But what fight would be a good step up for Belcher on his way to title contention? 4. With his loss, Kimbo has been cut from the UFC. Are his MMA fighting days over, or will he end up fighting again for another organization? 5. With his loss to Shogun, Machida has now fallen back into a very stacked list of contenders at 205. Who should he fight next to try and earn a title shot? TFK
1:Shogun/Rampage---Rampage is one of my favorite fighters, so I will always pick him. rematch is a bonus and the match up would be more explosive IMO than a Rashad/Shogun 2:No improvements from Koschek. I thought he would be much further along. The 2nd fight will be fought much more cautiously by both fighters making it a dull affair. 3:Marquadt would be a perfect fight for Belcher since he's coming off of a loss, if that's not available, he should avenge his loss to Grove at the least. 4:I can see Strikeforce signing Kimbo for a fight. If he loses that, he's probably done. 5:Machida should rematch Thiago Silva. Both guys have lost and are near the top of the division. A win would put the winner in #1 contention just like their first fight did.
1) Shogun vs Rampage is the fight I would rather see. 2) No, Koscheck should have to fight Dan Hardy first...just for the hell of it. 3)He should avenge some of his losses. 4) Kimbo is done. He is/was nothing more than a internet attraction. The fact his knees/legs are bad will be his downfall over and over again. 5)Put him in there with the loser of the Rampage/Rashad fight.
1. I'd be happy with either fight, as both would be huge. But I guess I'd rather see Rashad get the fight, as I think Rampage is nearing that point MMA fighters reach when they fall off and fall off fast. He's not there yet, but I think he's getting close. 2. I don't see Kos having any better chance of winning the 2nd time then he did the 1st. I know GSP is wildly popular, but if this is gonna Main Event a PPV, there better be a strong undercard. 3. I think Maia would be a good matchup. He's coming off his lost to Silva, and a loss to Belcher would be a major blow to him ever seeing another title shot, so I think we'd see the best of Maia. 4. I don't think we've seen the last of Kimbo. It wouldn't shock me to see a Kimbo\Lashley fight for Strike Force before year's end. Also, Japan loves freak shows, so he could always end up there fighting the Bob Sapp's and Minowaman's of the world. 5. If Evans beats Rampage, I think Rampage and Machida should fight. If not, then maybe a Machida\Forrest fight would be good. TFK
What bothers me is not so much Machida losing, but the way he lost. A champion who is, by most fans, considered the best in the world in his division should NEVER get absolutely obliterated that quickly and easily. It's not acceptable. And it's why I didn't rate Machida. First off because I don't consider him an athlete at all, he's not particularly strong, fast or powerful either and he has questionable standup which I felt would've been exposed sooner or later.
1. Now that Shogun is the champ at 205, he should most likely make his first title defense against the winner of the upcoming Evans\Rampage fight. What fight would you guys rather see, Shogun vs Rashad, or Shogun vs Rampage in a rematch from their Pride days? I always like to see new fights and but im sure rashad's chin would not take the power of shogun. As for rampage i think he is really a done fighter, is last fights he looks too lackadaisical and only relies on his punching power. Shogun would hand both of these guys their asses. 2. Josh Koshcheck will now be getting the next shot at GSP. Have you seen any improvement in Kos since the last fight that makes you think he will fare any better his 2nd time around? i think joshcheck's standup has improved but i knew he wouldnt bother showing it last night. he could always catch gsp with a big right hand but it would just the same as the first fight, gsps wrestling has gotten so much better since that fight and look what he did to that faggot koshcheck. 3. After beating Patrick Cote, Adam Belcher called out Anderson Silva. Obviously, that's not gonna happen any time soon. But what fight would be a good step up for Belcher on his way to title contention? Belcher has some nice kicks and his standup is really improved since i saw him get starched by jason day however i think belcher needs to improve his defense and he is waaay to easy to hit and relies way too much on his good chin. He would be no match for silva. 4. With his loss, Kimbo has been cut from the UFC. Are his MMA fighting days over, or will he end up fighting again for another organization? even though the cut is a little premature, i would suggest dana having him in there for one more fight with a stand up fighter and if he lost then cut him. if he does get cut there is always somewhere to go 5. With his loss to Shogun, Machida has now fallen back into a very stacked list of contenders at 205. Who should he fight next to try and earn a title shot? Machida needs to get an easy fight with a fringe contender to get his confidence back, maybe a fight with forrest griffin, lil nog or luiz cane would be good.
1: Would love to see Rampage vs Shogun. Rampage like Shogun is still young enough to regain his form if he dedicates himself. Even half-assing it, his only loss in he UFC is a controversial decision to Forrest. Rashad vs Shogun would be lame, he'd shoot constantly, and Shogun would possibly tap him unconscious. 2. Kos will do better than last time. He didn't train wrestling his last fight and it showed. I'm not so sure GSP can take down at will a Kos who's actually anticipating and prepared for it. 3. I'd like to see him fight Wanderlei, would be a good scrap agaiat a big name. Okami is also there. Still doesn't change the fact that the UFC really needs to sign some guys like Lombard, Santiago, Khalidov and get some fresh prospects in there to liven up that wasteland. 4: I hope he retires but Strikeforce will sign him and feed him cans. 5: Forrest Griffin would be good, Ryan Bader and Jon Jones are also interesting options.
1. Shogun vs. Rampage for sure. Lets see if he can avenge a brutal loss like he did vs. Wanderlei. 2. I see GSP beating him just as easy. Daley had Kos scared shitless of standing, but Kos will not be abe to take down GSP at will like he did Daley. GSP will pick him apart. 3. Bisping or Wanderlei. 4.I think its over. Kimbo is just terrible and he is too old to get any better. Get rid of him. The only option I see for him is maybe a fight in strikeforce vs Herschel. But thats only because Herschel is so damn old. And I still think Herschel beats him. 5. Little Nog, Forrest
1) Personally I think the Shogun-Rampage rematch is the better fight. Rampage has already avenged the Silva loses back in Pride so a Rua rematch is a great storyline. And to date, Jackson hasn't been seriously beaten in the UFC which seems to lend credence to him not being the same guy he was back in Pride. 2) I disagree with the majority of people on Koscheck. He now knows how good GSP's wrestling is, which was a bit shocking in the first fight. And he would likely concentrate on it strictly leading up to the rematch. And his striking has obviously improved. 3) Belcher looked good but this was a Cote coming back from a serious knee injury and an almost 2 year layoff. Belcher needs a serious, in-the-hunt top 5 guy. I like Marquardt, Shields, Maia, Belfort. 4) Apparently Kimbo's old job is still available in Miami and backyard camera work has improved. We could see Kimbo in a HD streetfight soon so he can again show us "How a n$$$$ eat." 5)I honestly don't know who else at 205 in the UFC can run with Lyoto. If I could make a dream contender match up, I would put Lyoto in with Jon Jones, Randy Couture, Ryan Bader or Lil Nog. I am a 'put up or shut up' fan, so I think Machida-Jones would be the top of my list.
Kimbo was paid more money than most fighters. He probably has enough saved up to get him through a few years along with taking care of his kids' college funding. Unless, like the typical dimwit thug, he spent everything on strippers, whores and drugs.
Let's hope for his sake his saved some of it. In all honesty, he probably has a couple of pay days left in some sideshow type of events. And I'll be clear, I'm not slamming the guy. He apparently worked hard and tried. He was probably too old to take up such a seriously involved sport. Not to mention, I can't imagine a worse condition to take into the cage than bad knees. What a target.
He's too old for MMA. And too set in his street-ways to really adopt the complex training of MMA. His physical conditioning was bad too. Regardless, he made alot of money for his fights in Strikeforce and the UFC. More money than most dudes in MMA might see in their whole careers.
