jackson's a better fighter than rashad imo, but i question his conditioning and mental focus at this point in his career.

i'm slightly leaning towards evans to stink it out and win via decision. either way, i think the winner gets beat up by shogun.

not sure if their first encounter meant much, but shogun kicked the crap outta rampage worse than anyone ever did.

Jackson might be too much for Shogun standing up, Shogun beats Evans no problem.

That hasn't been determined but I hope so. I like the idea!:partie: It works out timing wise as well since both will have fought in May.

This is my feeling too. I think Rampage has the far better chin and if they trade, Rashad falls.

If it's Rampage I can see it, but I don't see them doing another Machida\Evans fight.

you know they already fought in pride and that it wasn't the case at all. Sure, Rampage didn't seem 100% at that time but that's a pretty bold statement to make. Rampage will be a huge underdog and rightfully so as he will have to prove their first fight was a fluke.

It's amazing how bad Rampage looked in those Pride loses. He could seem like night and day on any given night.

And I honestly am one of those that thinks he was just flying by the seat of his pants in Pride. I don't think he ever had great camps or worked with top guys.

I think that has changed now. I know Wanderlai was near shot in the 3rd fight with Rampage so it's a poor barometer, but I think that version of Rampage does much better in the first 2 fights with Silva. He really is a different animal now.

That being said, he is till going to be the underdog and in for a hell of a fight if he gets Shogun again. But I think he has the ability to win the fight. This UFC version of Rampage just doesn't get run over anymore.

Rampage has a great chance to beat Shogun. I'm certainly not dismissing it. It'll be interesting to see what Rampage offers in the Evans fight. He's been gone a while.

Because he was only asleep for 4 minutes after getting knocked out?

It wasn't a close fight at all.

If Quenton cant defend the Tai Clinch then he has no chance against Shogun.

:boohoo:Rashad came back and stopped a big puncher in Thiago Silva. He proved he can come back.

Machida should never get in the ring with Shogun again according to your theory.

Quinton is one of my favorite fighters but I have always been bothered by how hot/cold he can be. He was also way off in the Griffin fight.

Word. The Forrest fight was tough to watch. He could have done so much more.

i thought rampage looked horrendous against that judoka dong sik yoon and when he barely scraped past linland in a fight where many folks thought he lost.

he looked revamped when he KTFOed lidell and outpointed hendo, but he again showed his inconsistency by coming in out of shape vs. the greatest and perhaps the luckiest overchiever in forrest griffin.

i think inactivity might be a factor and i'm going w/ evans on points.

GSP-Koscheck was a 29-28 decision on two cards. Evans-Machida ended brutally in the 2nd Round with Evans slobbering and asleep in the most akward fallen position ever seen.

On top of that GSP-Koscheck is a title fight. An Evans-Machida wouldn't be a title fight and therefore not really necessary.

Now if Evans beats Rampage and then Shogun, you would HAVE to make a rematch.

False. It's completely relevant. Evans didn't stop Silva. He eeked out a relatively close decision and almost got starched in the 3rd round, again. If he loses to Rampage, the last thing he needs is a rematch with the guy that knocked him senseless.

So, again, it's not only relevant, it's an important little fact. He never came close to stopping Silva.

Evans sucks. Hes very lucky he is fighting a fat inactive Rampage who doesn't want to fight anymore.

no he didnt, evans ran around and caught chuck coming in, the fight was close until that happened, rampage dominated, every second of their fights, and the first fight was just a brutul domination where he beat chuck like a kid

i want Rampage to win. But as many have said earlier, who knows if he is going to show up for this fight.

Regardless. Shogun is waaay to smart and talented as a fighter for either one. I think we are going to see that the Forrest fight was a abnormalty. Shogun is a fighter through and through. Not many weaknesses, strong, athletic, talented, and extremely well rounded. I really want a Shogun/Silva fight to happen.
