Khan...too fast, too good. Underated power too. Khan moves well and is learning to command the center of the ring. His jab is blazing and he will score big with the right hand all night. He's a lock to win most improved fighter of the year. Khan by UD.

Khan sucks but Maidana sucks and he's slow too. Always pick with speed unless there's a big disparity in skill

Tough pick, but I think Khan may have too much skill for Maidana, shaky chin or not

    TRUE
but he is also more skilled

Maidana is a straight ahead brawler

even one of today's leaping, Jones Jr. inspired young guys with next to zero fundamentals is more skilled than a Maidana, tough and willing though he may be

Because he doesn't have ANY SKILL beyond excellent hand eye co-ordination and judgement of range, which aren't actually skills rather athletic attributes. He's a rock em sock em robot on a scalextric track.

C'mon now. I can understand you not liking his style, fair enough, but he has skills. You're making him sound like an athletic Eric Crumble.

I don't see any difference in their skill level, Khan just gets away with far more because he's so, so fast. I mean somebody taught Khan to keep his hands up so that's a score for him, but Maidana actually has a regular punch arsenal of more than 2 shots so it's much of a muchness. Both are primeval.

People easily confuse skill with athleticism. Khan has bundles of the latter, which makes him fairly useful.

well Khan can throw a jab of sorts and can sort of counterpunch

so right there he is more skilled

believe me, I dont think anything of Khan

he can succeed in today's boxing world because it blows

I don't deny your first sentence, but Khan DOES have skill, you don't give a guy like Kindelan a good fight on athleticism alone, regardless of your opinions on the amateur game.

Think we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't see any 'skill' beyond speed, eye hand co-ordination & judgement of range, beyond that he's as screamingly basic as it's possible to be. Im away to watch some youtube vids of Locche & Nunn and have a wee cry, night night:crying:

I think Khan can outbox Maidana.

Maidana is a good boxer and tough and obviously its going to be dangerous for Khan to exchange too much with him.

IMHO I think Khan needs to take out Maidana early, otherwise Maidana is bound to land something big on him.

I don't think he needs to at all, he can just outbox him and beat him up. He could catch Maidana with something he doesn't see and take him out, but it's more likely he's going to beat him late.

I know Ortiz was knocked down in round 1 and finally beaten in round 6, but he had Maidana down once in round 1 and twice in round 2 and Khan is better than Ortiz. That showed that Maidana can easily get hit and hasn't got the best chin and I believe Khan can stop Maidana earlier than many suggest.
