    Ok, here we go

On the one hand you have Corrales, very tall, great puncher especially with the left hook to the head and body, not the best chin on the block, but he had guts and heart

On the other you have Buchanan, terrific boxer who could dance all night and threw very good combinations in textbook style, outstanding chin and stamina and like Corrales, barreloads of guts... his weakness: power... he wasnt Paul Spadafora by any means, but he wasnt going to make anyone forget Ike Williams or Edwin Rosario either

you have to figure Corrales's two biggest weaknesses, defensive lapses and his chin are at least somewhat offset by Buchanan's biggest weakness, his power or lack thereof

conversely, Buchanan's biggest strength, his great legs, are challenged by such a LONG opponent while Chico's biggest strength, his punch, is offset a bit by Buchanan's toughness

    so who wins this battle?

12 or 15 rounds, up to you

Lets look at it like this...was Buchanan really any worse than Casamayor.

I think Buchancan would stop this guy inside 15 rounds, and outboxes him over 12.

No way, at all, that Corralles even gets close to the 15th vs Duran.

Buchanan might have even made a fool of Mayweather, never mind be competitive.

I think it was all correct until the last line.

Yeah, I just threw that in there to see if people didn't skip down to the bit where they saw the word "mayweather". It never fails. It is an invitation for posters to fail into a ball of babbling frothing madness and subjectivity.

Buchanan beats Chico... probably stops him late.

I would favor Ken too, but he'd have to respect that punch... I had a feeling Irish was kidding about Mayweather

Mayweather beats Buchanan over 15 but it is a slim, close decision. And probably an utterly terrible fight.

You really think Cassamayor fights anything like Buchanan?

That wasn't the point. The point was that Casamayor is not as good as Buchanan to begin with. They did share one similarity in that they were boxers rather than punchers.
