    Pryor

Sure Locche could dodge a lot of Pryor's shots, but not all of them. Just too much volume. Secondly he doesn't have enough of an offensive arsenal to counter with.

Interesting fight to watch unfold, but I've got to disagree with our good friend, Whiskey, & back Locche. Pryor was awful wide-open...I've seen much lesser fighters than Locche make him pay for his wild ways, & which top-flight defensive boxer did Pryor ever overwhelm, with either power or volume? Great defensive boxers aren't dependent on a great arsenal to, "keep fighters off." Look at what Benitez did to Duran, in a fight which is unfairly washed over all too often. Benitez couldn't hurt Duran, as savage an offensive force as Pryor even at Welter, with a sledgehammer, but still found the necessary holes off the back-foot to frustrate Duran out of the game.

That's really one of the defining features which separates the good defensive fighters from the truly great ones...they can keep you off-balance & missing enough of your shots, & at a great enough level of consistency, to drain your focus & warp your mindset. It's no coincidence opponents of Pep, Whitaker & co. can be observed getting wilder & wilder the longer the fight goes. It ultimately takes tremendous, tremendous focus of mind to beat the very best of these fighters, & Locche may in fact have been the best of them all, period.

I think he shuts Pryor down, cripples his landing percentage, & sweeps the back end of the fight for the decision. Two great fighters, for sure. Pryor was a beast, & Locche, a genius.

agree, he doesnt have anything to keep Pryor off of him... close fight, maybe controversial decision but I think "The Hawk" wins it on work rate

Any fan of Locche, is a friend of mine!:cheer: I agree - the Locche who shut out Cervantes turns Pyror inside out and upside down.

Locche belongs on any all-timers list & that isn't even a debate with me. Pryor? Less convincing.

To be fair... I give the likes of Locche, Whitaker, and Benitez a better chance of beating The Hawk then I do the likes of Chavez, and Tszyu.

What are your odds for Chavez & Tszyu? I think Chavez-Pryor is a miraculous war, I'd be more than happy to sit on the fence, but if really pushed, I'd take Chavez. Tszyu, I could not really see beating Pryor. At least, not more than once in six or seven fights. Benitez would better Pryor, IMO, & so would Whitaker.

I'd take Pryor over Chavez, but it certainly is a brutal war. Pryor stops Tszyu within 10. I'd be inclined to agree with you that Benitez, and Whitaker would outbox The Hawk.

Is it Pryor's angles & greater versatility which inspire you against Chavez? I think they're definite assets in what would surely be a savage affair.
