They're both of equal benefit to each other, equal purses. Anyone who asks for more than 50% & scuppers the fight on that basis is ducking the other.

It was a while ago now, but hadn't they already agreed on purse splits and everything else...it was just the drug tests that remained a stumbling block.

But yeah, you can argue all you want about who's worth more for different reasons...you'd be splitting mathmatical hairs to come round to an actual answer....bottom line is that both guys are gonna get very rich...50-50 or a split where the winner gets more is more than fair.

It Depends on what Other Concessions R Being Made/Given...If Pac Only Wants Random Testing Up Until 14 Days Prior to the Fight & Floyd Agrees to It, then Maybe that's Worth a 51-52% Split...

Nevada reported the last blood tests were done 18 days out from the Mosley-May fight...if I'm Pac that's where I set my date.

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. Pac agreed to giving blood immediately after the fight the first time out.

    The Tests were RANDOM Muzse...

Pacquiao is Only SUBJECT to Testing Up to 14 Days Out (If that's what they Agree on)...Conceivably, they Could NEVER Test him @ All, but he'd B SUBJECTED to the Possibility of it Up til 2 Weeks Before the Fight...

The Fact that Shane Tested 18 Days Prior has NO Bearing on the RANDOMNESS of the Tests he Took...Shane was Probably PREPARED for the Likelihood of Another Test AFTER the 18 Day Mark...

I understand that...what I'm saying is they didn't have a problem with 18 days out unless the "comfort" of the four days allowed him to carry on. But it's my understanding Pac already agreed to the 14 days up front.

My guess, Floyd will come back asking for more money and additional concessions which says to me they're trying to sink the fight.

Last time out the major sticking point was the 14 days, if Pac's already agreed I don't see where there's an issue making the fight under previous terms.

They can never sell 3 million PPV with out the other. That's the bottom line.

Either one asking for more than 50% is trying to pull a fast one on the other and in a sense KILL the fight so he has never has to face the other.

    What does that mean, random?

The USADA had ping-pong balls decide when to test?

If 18 days is enough time for a fighter to take PEDs and clear them out of his system, then they're only relying on the fear of testing to keep a known PED user clean for almost three weeks before a major fight?

So the aim was to avoid both camps for the better part of three weeks?

They can keep the tests from 4 and 5 weeks back for however long they want, if that's the case. They're window dressing.

And for the pattern part...if they're going to one camp on one day, and then following that by going to the other camp the very next day...I guess that can't be considered a pattern.

The "Pattern" is NO PATTERN, Dude...ANYTIME within the agREED Upon Dates, U're Subjected to RANDOM Testing...

It Could Happen @ 5am, Midnight, Back to Back Days, 1nce Per Month OR Not @ All...The "Aim/Reason" is to Keep the TESTEE Guessing...

Right, but if they go to one camp March 22, the other March 23, one camp March 31, the other April 1, one camp April 12, the other April 13...is that not a pattern?

You're saying there's no way another camp can find out when the other fighter was tested? Or what samples they took?

If Camp A is DUMB Enough to Broadcast it, Sure, Camp B Can Find Out...But Most MAJOR Fight Camps R VERY Close Knit & GUARDED...SELECT Few People Allowed In OR Out...

The 18 day was the last time that they were blood tested. They did random urine tests after that.

    From Kevin Iole:
Mayweather gave blood and urine on March 22, April 1, April 13 and then May 1 after the fight. He gave urine only on April 3, April 6, April 21 and April 24.

Mosley gave blood and urine on March 23, March 31, April 12 and then May 1 after the fight. He gave urine only on March 29, April 7, April 20 and April 26.

Yeah, I read and ignored the urine tests.

If Mayweather's not interested in urine, you shouldn't be either.

So nobody outside the camp, for example like from HBO, would ever know when the fighters were tested?

    Not even a film crew?

Didn't you say the split of 51%-52% would be acceptable? Shouldn't it be 51%-49% ?

    http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/259219/no-news-floyd-arum

<!-- CONTENT --> Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum clarified Tuesday that there’s no official word yet from Floyd Mayweather’s camp whether the US fighter is willing to soften his stand on the touchy issue of random drug-testing and purse-split.
“Haven’t heard a word,” Arum said as quoted by the website The Sweet Science while he was checking out the training of Yuri Foreman, who battles Miguel Cotto on Juner 5 at Yankee Stadium.
There were reports the other day that Mayweather wants to get the chunkier piece of the pie when he collides with Filipino sporting icon Manny Pacquiao.
Though Mayweather hasn’t responded directly to the 14-day cutoff period , he has made it known to key Pacquiao people that he is not inclined to a 50-50- revenue split.
Still, Arum has made it clear that Mayweather’s people have been properly informed about the 14-day window and that the ball is now in their court.
Pacquiao and Mayweather are being eyed to figure in a super showdown at welterweight for November 13 either in Las Vegas or Dallas.
The outcome of the Cotto-Foreman fight could play a pivotal role in the on-going negotiations since the winner might be considered to face Pacquiao should a Mayweather bout doesn’t take place.
If Pacquiao fights Cotto or Foreman, it would be at 154 lbs, meaning the Filipino will be gunning for an unheard of eighth world title.

    Pascals Wager 03-17-2010, 03:45 AM

Well, I was kind of wrong about the drug issue I guess. Manny has agreed to what PBF originally demanded. I guess we'll just have to see if PBF moves the goal posts on that one again as well.

The testing for FM v SM was a joke. 18 days break would be hilarious if wasn't so stupid. Huge issues made of it being a clean fight when in all likelihood one or both could have been doped to the eyeballs on PEDs.

Random blood testing anytime but one set test in the week leading up to the fight and immediately after should be incorporated. Like Kauks said, with that type of window a boxer could just load up and take his chances.

Let's not talk about urine testing either. It was made very clear that it is easy to beat urine tests.

That's true, but... they should have atleast tested them once in that critical time frame to make sure,.. I dont think a psychological ploy is good enough,.. an extremely desperate fighter could have taken the risk, and got away with this.

It should be 50-50. The Floyd-Mosley numbers were a lot less than I expected.
