Best final rounds? We'll just include the final scheduled round in this instance, so round twelve of twelve, fifteen of fifteen, etc. What are some stand-outs for you?
Round 15 of John Tate vs. Mike Weaver is THE GREATEST Closing Round that REED can Think of...Like REED has Said Many Times Over, Tate Grew WEARY from Beating the Shit Out of Mike Weaver... Yet w/45 Seconds Left in the 15th & Final Round, Weaver HURT, DROPPED & KO'ed John Tate...The Name "John Tate" DOESN'T mean Much NOW, but Back Then, he was MORE HIGHLY Thought of than Larry Holmes was...& There's NO Guarantee that Holmes Would have BEATEN Tate Either, had he Gotten Past Mike Weaver... As Luck would have it, Tate LOST to Weaver & Pretty Much Fell OFF the Face of the Boxing Map... REED:hammert:
In terms of fights that went the full distance... Round 10 of Robinson-Gatti I was pretty damn good way of closing out that fight.
Lamotta KO15 Laurent Dauthuille with only seconds remaining in the 15th round and Lamotta far behind on points.
Even though this final stanza was a touch one-sided, I was priviledged to have attended De La Hoya-Quartey, & man alive, what a finish. Everyone was on their feet around us. It had such a dramatic air as De La Hoya first floored him, then trapped him along the ropes. I was certain --- dead-certain --- at one point Halpern was going to jump in. It was just electric.
Chacon-Limon 4 and Vazquez-Marquez 3 were dramatic comebacks. Not as in late KOs, but in knockdowns within the last 20 seconds of the fight. In both fights, the winners won by one point. I think Shavers-Williams was scheduled for 10. That was a crazy 10th round. Kessler-Froch had a very good 12th round.

ray:ray:ray: Watching that POS being beaten down by a guy with loaded gloves and more low blows than your average German submariner was fucking beautiful. Vargas is a POS with a foul attitude, and I commend Tito for beating his ass. PS I love how Tito timed that first left hook right in the middle of a pile of waffle from Harold Lederhosen, allowing Lampley to interrupt him. Beautiful. Go back to California, maricon!
Wow so much hatred for a boxer who was a true warrior...who cares about his attitude, he always gave it his all in fights, better than a guy like Ortiz who is a class act but quits when it gets dangerous... Boxing isn't for nice guys... By the way, great closing round.

Also a gem forgotten was jesus Chavez - Carlos Hernandez round 12, the first minute they just stood and traded, quite beautiful.
Looking closely, Vazquez is actually caught not paying attention as he gets knocked down the first time (what a crunching shot, though!). Larios bruised him throughout the contest, snatched his focus & finally ended matters in the last stanza. A great night for Larios --- better things lied ahead for Vazquez.
Doesn't sound too official. Just hyperbole. Vazquez may or may not be a future HOFer, but I'd lean toward no.
