``Fighters fought back then, in my day or my era, we fought, it was all about bragging rights,'' said Leonard. ``What bothers me about boxing today is that boxers are so afraid of losing. They want to be 20-0, 30-0, 100-0. But it's OK, you fight, you lose, you come back a few months later. You come back!

``Fighters today, they stress pound-for-pound, who is the best pound-for- pound? To be the best pound-for-pound, though, that's who you have to be fighting, the best.''

"People have always asked me, `Ray, what would you do against Oscar (De La Hoya)? What would you do against Mayweather?' I always tell 'em as far as Mayweather is concerned . . . I already knocked his father out.

One problem is fans bestowing greatness based on hypothetical resume's.

REED said it best...Sugar Ray Leonard's resume is amazing considering he had less than 40 fights...Floyd has had 40 fights. Leonard was two years into his career when he faced Benitez...three when he faced Duran.

Leonard wasn't in his prime either...Ray was 13 or 14-0 at the time.

Ive said it before and will say it again... if prime Leonard, and Hearns were around today, best believe Floyd would have stayed at 140.

Mayweather Sr had more fights than Ray at that point. He'd been a pro for 3 or 4 years...longer than Ray had at any rate. Ray really dismantled him decisively. Towards the end, Ray started turning up the heat and outclassed him horribly. Highlight reel stuff.

Don't believe Floyd would have fought either Leonard or Hearns. Both were too big and too strong.

Pacquiao would have probably fought Leonard but I'm not sure he would have been too keen on fighting Hearns.

The problem being there's a list of guys Floyd wouldn't have fought or would have fought and lost to long before he would have gotten to leonard. He never would have made it past Duran at 135. In fact, he would have stayed at 130 until he cut off an arm or saw Duran moved up.

No like Muzse said, he woulda stayed at 130. Either that or moved to 140, and fight all the contenders EXCEPT Pryor.

The one guy I'd pick Floyd to beat at that weight is Arguello...if Alexis landed it's lights out...don't think he lands a solid shot on Floyd. After that win Floyd wouldn't have done much else. Would have waited for guys to move up or retire.

I'd pick Floyd over just about anybody at 130. He was brilliant at that weight.

At 135-140, things change for him.
