I'm honestly surprised. I figured Jardine would have a job with the UFC for as long as he wanted one. He's a company guy, fought some of the best fighters at his weight, and did well against many of them, always gave his best and was always entertaining. Hopefully he either catches on with Strike Force or he runs off a few good wins on the indy circuit and gets another chance with the UFC. TFK
This is the way it should have been. When I think of UFC light heavies, he's one of the guys I think of, even if he's just an average fighter. To my knowledge, Griffin and Bonnar are the only 2 guys I've heard Dana say he'll never cut.
If he got blown out, I thought he would be cut. The fight was give and take. I'm surprised. They sure milked him for all of his 10K a fight deal.
I love Jardine. He is nothing special from a skill standpoint, but the guy is dirt tough. He was always in shape. He always took the sport and his fights seriously. And fought the best the UFC had to offer at the weight. Personally, despite his recent record, I would still look forward to a Jardine fight because you know it would be a scrap. If he does hook up with Strikeforce, it will be a nice addition for them. I'd love to see him go at King Mo right away. Jardine has great take down defense and does a great job getting back to his feet. Jardine could honestly be the Strikeforce LH Champ.
Yeah, but 2 of those 4 won Fight of the Night honors so the guy has remained competitive. But look at his resume over his last 10 fights or so. The guy has fought nothing but top guys. Nevertheless, as I said, he will be a valueable addition to Strikeforce if they get him. Honest question, who would you rather have on your roster at 205, Babalu or Jardine?
Jardine is a weird fighter. It's almost like he fights up to his level of competition. Arguably his two biggest fights were Liddell and Rampage, and he beat Liddell and came close to beating Rampage. But he loses to guys like Hamill and Houston Alexander. I don't know if he'd beat Babalu, but I'd sure as hell be rooting for him. TFK
Jardine may not be very good, but he's always entertaining. I'd rather watch Jardine give his all and go out on his shield than watch GSP lay and pray his way to another safety first decision. TFK
