I dont think so. Fedor was going to go in his guard anyways, he didnt have to lure him. Werdum could have just laid on the ground and fedor would have gone in. Why risk getting KOed?

Equal Parts BAITING from Werdum & OVERCONFIDENCE from Fedor...

REED Doesn't Think Werdum PURPOSELY Fell to the Canvas, but 1nce he Got There, his Level of Comfort INCREASED, so he WASN'T about to Try to Get Back Up...@ that SAME Moment, Fedor's Killer Instinct & Arrogance Took Over...

No, I absolutely don't think Werdum went into the fight thinking "OK, the first time a punch gets close I am going to act like I got knocked down to lure him into my guard."

But, I also don't think he was in a hurry to get back to his feet.

He either flopped to his back or tripped. He wasn't knocked down.

His Balance was POOR from the Moment he Planted & Fired Shots Back @ Fedor....He Certainly Didn't Flop, he Fell Down....

U Can Actually SEE Werdum Kicking @ Fedor, from his Back...Fedor WORKED his Way into Werdum's Guard...

So NO, Fedor WAS NOT "Lured" into the Submission...It was Actually an Extremely FORTUNATE Scenario for Werdum, Similar to Tarver-Jones II....

Check out the gif. You can clearly see Fedor doing something he always does. Grab the leg and Throw it out of the way and go to side position. But he missed the leg. He went down expecting the leg to be out of there, but it wasnt. putting fedor directly in Werdum's guard.

Watching the replay, I have no doubt that Fedor crushes him in a rematch. Look at how in their first standing exchange Werdum puts his head down, is off balance and is throwing wide looping shots.

Man, if Fedor just kept this standing Werdum gets destroyed with that form.

a better question would be 'does anyone think fedor wouldnt win a rematch?'

cos i think he beats the shit out of werdum.

Because werdum clearly loves fedor and is such a nice guy, Fedor wont kill him, but lets just say that it wont be pretty.

On a side note, did anyone else notice Fedor's ears have no damage? I just noticed that yesterday for the first time. Its like the motherfucker hardly ever gets hit. 30+ mma fights and not a fucked up ear.

I think most of the ear damage you see is because wrestlers don't always wear head gear in practice. Pretty sure that doesn't come from getting hit during fights or boxers would have it.

the 4th punch clearly connected. Werdum punches like a wild 12 yrs old teenager.

or it could be fedor playing it safe and stay away from werdum's guard.

i can't see werdum doing much when the fight's not on the ground.

fedor has to be the favorite going in, but not sure if he KOs him. it could be a boring affair

Plenty of boxers have fucked up ears. You should go up to the HOF one year during inductions.

Yes. It´s a new technique he already tested against Dos Santos, but it wasn´t perfect back then. This time it worked.

Wedum slipped, Fedor thought he was hurt and made a stupid mistake and dove into his guard. Werdum subbed Fedor in 2 minutes, why is everyone acting like there is no way Werdum could beat him in a rematch? It took him about 5 seconds to lock on the triangle once they hit the ground. Werdum is a FAR better grappler than Fedor. You don't fucking dive into the guard of a 2X BJJ world champ.

You guys should have fucking seen the look on everyones face in the stands, people didn't know what to think or say, the entire crowd could not believe what just happened. People were absolutely shocked.

Oh and Fedor was the fattest I have ever seen him. He had a bigger than normal gut. I think he's been reading his own press clippings and didn't train for shit for Werdum.

He's always kind of chubby looking, but he had a gut that would make Chuck Liddell proud Saturday.

Fedor trains all year long. But he is getting old. And his body has been through a lot. I still think he needs to cut some carbs.

The really telling part is that he looked soft, flabby and generally fatter yet weighed less. The dude is getting soft.
