Sad news. Detractors will certainly use this as fuel. Curiously, I wonder if the fact that he was 6'9 and 155 freakin' pounds had to do with it..

That was the 1st Thought in REED's Mind as Well...

It's Sad, yet Death is ALWAYS a Possibility, in ANY Professional COMBAT Sport...Detractors B DAMNED...Fortunately for MMA, these Tragedy's R Taking Place on LOW PROFILE Cards for Now...If Such a Thing Happens in UFC or Strikeforce, that'll have MORE of an Impact on the Sport than this Particular Instance will...

A death on a major card would destroy everything.

You got to give him credit for his use of capital letters, he's obviously emphasizing that he's shouting when he says it. He makes Bill O' Reilly proud.

I think UFC or Strikeforce COULD survive a death but if it's from 1shot and not a prolonged beating they would be in big trouble.

3 deaths for as many years as MMA has been around isn't a bad record. How many deaths have there been in boxing in that same time frame? I would guess the number is quite a bit higher.
