Boxing fans and sports fans in general are very loyal. They always say they will stop watching and will stop giving a f*ck but they always come back in the end. They always gotta peak another look.

If he retires (undefeated) by then...history will be kind to him. History has been very kind to lesser fighters than him.

Man, PBF really needs to step it up here. This fight has to happen and Pac has done everything on his side. If PBF sidesteps this fight, the critics are going to crucify him. Maybe someone will go steal a bunch of jewelry from him again and call the IRS on him so he HAS to fight.

The boxing world has no one to blame but themselves. We are the ones buying his PPV fights. I regret ever buying a PPV from that chicken. Oh well we live and learn from our mistakes.

 Not it won't. Boxing fans aren't idiots, sly. They know the deal. They know PBF's best wins were against aged past-prime boxers like DLH and Shane. His record won't mean sh*t!

seeing that pacquiao fought during Floyd's era, fought better guys, won more titles in more weight classes history might be kind but not blind and dumb. if they retired today pac goes down as the greater fighter. If floyd beats Pac, Pac goes down as the greater fighter.

Floyd could retire undefeated and yet remembered for not fighting Pac.

If history is kind to Floyd what would it be to Pac...especially say if he beat Margarito for a title at 154.

    Titles 112, 122, 126, 130, 135, 140, 147, 154.

All save the the first and last two he'd been the lineal champion...something Floyd has been once...courtesy of Baldomir. Not a Hall of Fame fighter by any means.

Leonard Ellerbe, Adviser to Floyd Mayweather Jr., giving a statement on the reported ongoing negotiations for Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao on November 13 - "Here are the facts. Al Haymon, Richard Schaefer and myself speak to each other on a regular basis and the truth is no negotiations have ever taken place nor was there ever a deal agreed upon by Team Mayweather or Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao on November 13. Either Ross Greenburg or Bob Arum is not telling the truth, but history tells us who is lying."

i think Floyd will become a joke if he doesnt fight pacquiao. i just wish someone could get that thru to him. someone should ask him if he thinks Rocky Marciano is the best heavyweight of all time. i bet you $100 he doesn't.

Ellerbe has no clue what's going on. The guy was a gym hand before Jeff Mayweather introduced him to Floyd. Ellerbe is supposed to be Floyd's manager and yet you never hear him directly involved in any discussions...it's always Haymon or Schaeffer speaking on behalf of Floyd.

Don't take anything this clown says seriously. he's a yes man along the same lines Rory Holoway and John Horne were for Mike Tyson.

How could they possibly plead ignorance to this? Don't they have the internet or television and aren't they aware of the same little information that we posters are aware of? You'd think if they truely hadn't been in discussions then they would have at least picked up a phone and asked Arum what this countdown was all about. It was all over ESPN and the internet. What BS on behalf of the Mayweather team acting as if they're ignorant of the entire situation.

Reading through this thread, the number of PBF apologists who value pride over honesty seems to be diminishing.
However, It's funny to read the excuses of those who still do, get gradually more desperate.

By now I just hate pretty much everyone involved and think they are all liars. Mayweather, Arum, Elerbee, Schaefer, etc...

I hope the fight ends in a double knockout.

i would like to see mayweather jr fight pacquaio and defeat him. that is the likely outcome i suspect will occur. but at this point what else can you say but acknowledge that mayweather jr does not want the fight this year. that is what he stated publicly.

maybe he wants his uncle to be available in his corner.

maybe he wants his hands to heal up after hitting mosley's hard cabeza repeatedly.

maybe he doesnt feel like fighting anymore and only does so when he needs to financially.

maybe he feels he has gotten to that superstar echelon like many before him such as delahoya, leonard, etc where he only fights once a year and it adds to his appeal with ppv purchasing fans.

maybe he prefers to see pacquaio fight another hard fight and hope he can face a diminished foe.

who the fuck knows, but it is obvious he is the one who isnt interested in making it happen with pacquaio in 2010.

    Fair post.
Only PBF knows why he doesn't want to fight Manny.
But It definately should be obvious to all by now that he doesn't want to.
