Would you call the fourth fight grueling?

Anyways, I think I'd favor JuanMa.

Juanma's defense will be his major downfall here.

When Marquez moved up from 118, he only really fought one quality super bantamweight, Vasquez.

I'm not convinced Marquez's skill is enough in this one.

I am quietly confident for Marquez in this fight. It'll be a hairy proposition, but it's all on the line for Marquez here, really. Win, & he can take a step toward writing his own ticket, but a loss would be a heavy set-back.

I do think he can do it, & I suspect he will. Lopez might be surprised by his punch.

Not as much as Marquez's chin will be for Rafa. I think Lopez dominates him.

    Lopez by KO.

Raffy will have success boxing; he's not his brother, but the guy can box. People forget that because he's such a good puncher, but when he wants to he can win rounds with his jab.

I don't think anybody's saying Marquez doesn't have boxing skills, because he does, but go back to the third Vasquez fight, and I thought Vasquez won that one clearly (8-4, or so, I think had it from ringside)...and Vasquez was clearly the stronger fighter at the end of the fight.

Marquez has more left in the tank than Vasquez, something clearly evident in their meeting earlier this year, in part because Marquez could win fights with more than just punching power.

I'll take Marquez in this one. I've been a big fan since his wins against Mark Johnson and his shellacking of Tim Austin. It's kind of unfortunate that he has spent the last 3 1/2 years of his career fighting just one guy over and over.

Vazquez is a smarter (and probably more durable) fighter than Lopez. Lopez is an offensive machine, but he's not the calculated killer that Vazquez is (was).

I don't think it's wise to conclude that since Vazquez handled Marquez, that Lopez can.

Lopez is too big. Raffy is getting old. Add that toghether and the logical answer would be Juanma. But this is boxing. Raffy has the talent edge and is vastly more experienced at the worldclass level. For some inexplicable reason,...I see shades of Davey Moore vs Roberto Duran here. Not just the outcome, but that after this fight, Juanma not being the same ever again. Bad fight for Lopez to take imo.

You do it all the times.....

"Cotto is a great body puncher, he is super awesome, he can't be beat"

"Juanma is the future of boxing, Juanma can KO anybody in the world"

then when they step up to fight a Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, Ponce De Leon, etc....OHH MY GOD I'm not sure about COTTO/JUANMA chances in this fight.....I don't have a good feeling about it....

So Marquez is the favourite, but none of the FB resident experts will realize or acknowledge how shot he is until Lopez bludgeons him.

    K. Noted.

I disagree strongly. Vazquez eeked it out with the final round on my card with the 10-8 stanza. Vazquez was much stronger in the second-half of the fight, yes --- but Marquez was essentially equally-dominant through the first-half. I thought it was max a 2-pointer for Vazquez.

That's fine. We saw different fights in the third match-up...maybe why we see Lopez-Marquez differently, as well.

Perhaps so. How would you frame this fight, in percentages of 100? I'm going to go with something along the lines of 57-43, Marquez over Lopez. It's pretty close.

I think the speed from Juanma will be the difference. I think his lack of defense and Rafa's power is enought to scare him a time or two.

But at the end I think Lopez wins a UD!

Rafa hasn't really showed me anything except the Vazquez fights. I don't think he is shot like VAzquez but he has seen better days.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Lopez KOd him. He has decent power and Rafa's chin is not exactly solid. But the speed and skills alone should give Lopez the W

I do think Juanma is a good fighter, but as he progressed he has shown vulnerability. He gets hit too much and gets sloppy at times. He needs a better trainer that can help him become a better fighter. Trust me there will be a time where his power wont be enough.
