Is it true what they say? That you don't run into many dumb rich people?

If he Locates his CAJONES & Fights Pacquiao, then Probably Not...It's Hard to Spend THAT Much Money...But if Floyd Continues Down this Path of Pussification, he Probably WILL End Up Broke...

It ALL Rests on Whether or Not he Fights Pacquiao...

Biggie said "Mo' money, mo' problems." Everytime Floyd has had a major cash influx within a year he's had major tax issues.

Nothing will change except the size of his debt.

    I think he will.

For openers, he never earned all that much in the first place.

News to Slystaff - If Millionaire Black Athlete necessarily equaled broke at the end of life, we wouldn't need a poll, would we?

I thought we're talking about people who actually worked for their money and made it big. Not heirs and heiresses who had it made because of their parents.

Are Lennox Lewis, George Foreman and Larry Holmes the only 3 retired boxers who aren't struggling financially? Are there any more?

    He will be again.

Golden Boy fronted him nearly $7 million before the Marquez fight. the IRS was ready to show after the fight to garnish his check. Golden Boy paid off the debt a few days before the fight.

    With that said...

At the time, Floyd owed millions to vegas jewelers...owed millions to vegas casinos.

Could he have paid them off with proceeds from the last couple fights...certainly.

is it reasonable to think he'd wind up in the same spot again? Absolutely. he's had tax liens against him every year dating back to 2003.

Smart money says he'll be in debt again...not if....when.

DLH is still involved with boxing though as a promoter and he actually hasn't officially retired yet. I meant retired as in gone away from boxing completely and doing something unrelated with their lives.

No no...not at all. I just wanted to know the amount/stats of boxers who were able to live off their hard-earned riches once they moved on with their lives outside of boxing. I guess they can still be involved in some capacity. Just wanted to know which boxers have kept their money. Although bigdawg will tell me "Ain't nobody's business!" :Giggle:

News to Double L - I'm not likely to see the same topic regarding Kelly Pavlik.

It's a good point you make. For me, the discussion is interesting only in that I myself am fairly sure he will end up broke, and for me, as a boxing fan, I take comfort in that.

Oh, because he's white? Give it up. The guy gambles every day, spends money like he's royalty, and carries thousands of dollars in cash around, and you want to put this on his race? Get real.

If anyone deserves to be broke and humbled it's Man Child Floyd Mayweather.
