Just watching Antonio Escalante v Miguel Roman. Some great exchanges, Escalante rarely makes for a great fight, when he starts to throw he's wiiiiide open for counters (see the pastrana fight). In a year of disappointing high profile fights, any more worth catching up on?

A lot of Americans & Mexicans aren't familiar with 2007's Michael Katsidis vs. Graham Earl thriller.

A lot of Americans are very unfamiliar with a lot.

A lot of people who are not Americans have a lot to say about Americans.

Or Adams vs El Tigre Garza...the result was unexpected as was the sheer competitiveness of the under-dog. Entertaining in that the success Adams enjoyed was totally unexpected, and entertaining in that Garza hung in there and made a fight of it.

Another one, maintaining the theme, was Bredahl vs Paulie Ayala. Bredahl had been stopped by Wayne McCullough years previously, but really stuck it to Ayala who fought desperately to eek out a wafer-thin decision.

Another one of the "Don't Fight In America" classics.:shadow::shadow:

Yep. He got the benefit at least three times against Bredahl and Tapia, and in any other circumstances a fighter might be expected to lose at least one of those, or draw, but not win em all. And when the time came to take a whupping, Marco took it easy on him. Jammy bastard!

Oh is that why? Consider this: most people living in America don't consider themselves Americans. So why hang on it on America? The pieces of shit living in the middle of North America?

To the extent shit can live and thrive in America? I suppose that's attributable to the United States and its policies. But that shit is no more American than the socialist shit in Europe.

Said with sincere respect, understand, but this is not really any better than us going off on a tangent in your Klitschko-Briggs thread.

I was just making the point this thread isn't about pot-shotting Americans, either, but the issue arose. Things happen.

Although it's not quite low profile Vargas-Quartey was an excellent fight that you rarely hear mentioned.

LOL. Seriously though, check this fight out if you ever get the chance. One of the better lightweight fights on the 80's, capped off by a brutal come from behind KO.
