Yep. Toney trained himself down to the highest weight of his career.

I don't think it will affect him that much anyway. Since the fight will only go 5 minutes at most either way I think.

Felt like real tension at the staredown. I can´t decide TKO or submission. Does Randy want to pummel him or put him to sleep. They need to make sure Toney hasn´t brought a gun. He won´t take well to get humiliated imho.

Too bad this is not pride. I kinda for some strange reason wouldn't mind Toney getting soccer kicked in the head lol

Toney will let himself get taken down, taps out quickly and walks away unmarked, talking crap.

Over here the broadcast starts at 2.15 Greenwich time

Maybe, but two professional judges saw it dead even.

Nevertheless, a fat, bloated James Toney was able to last 12 rounds with Hasim Rahman.

At the same weight, he lasted 3:19 in the octagon with an MMA fighter closer to 50 than 45.

    Draw your own conclusions.

So we're trusting professional boxing judges now?

And that was over four years ago. And Hasim Rahman was not a good fighter in 2006, as evidenced his his stoppage loss to Maskaev () in his next fight.

The conclusion is Toney can't move his hands anymore, is obviously punch drunk, and he doesn't know how to wrestle. What's your conclusion?

My conclusion is simple and factual. At 237 pounds James Toney had the skill to survive 12 rounds in a boxing ring. However at that weight or any weight, he doesn't have the skill necessary to survive 1 round in an MMA cage.

Different sports. Different skill sets. Neither is inherently better or worse, just different.

He had the skill to survive... over four years ago.

Of course they're different sports, who said otherwise? You're talking about a win over James Toney in any athletic competition as if it means something in 2010. You've heard the man talk lately, right?

I think I said, in my first post Toney-Couture post that the fight was meaningless in the overall scheme of things. My thoughts haven't changed on that.

Toney is shot. Toney is delusional. Toney is fat. But he could likely go 10 rounds in a boxing ring tomorrow if he had to. The dude has never even been close to having a fight stopped.

BUT that same Toney doesn't have the skill to go 1 round in an MMA cage.

Why is that so hard to just accept? The same is likely true for Couture. He probably couldn't go 1 round in a boxing ring with Toney.

You're trying way too hard on this one.

So someone else was using your account when you were on here after the fight, beating your chest? Saying the fight proves cage fighters are tougher than boxers?

Cmon man. James didn't survive 1 round in MMA because he is an MMA rookie. He may be able to survive in boxing because he is a very seasoned veteran who's style is more effective in that sport.

Dude, that's exactly what I said.

Read this: "Toney doesn't have the skill to survive 1 round in an MMA cage."

We're saying exactly the same thing.

Show me were I said THIS fight proves that...

If I said that Toney-Couture proves MMA fighters are tougher than I was wrong. Not sure I said that though.

Thanks, as I said, I never said Couture-Toney proved anything.
