Kimbo headed to boxing... Kimbo Slice is apparently leaving MMA for boxing. Boxing promoter Gary Shaw told ESPNNewYork that he has a boxing deal in place with Slice that would see him make his boxing debut by the end of the year. Kimbo is apparently working with California-based trainer Clemente Medina and is expected to debut sometime between October and December. Shaw thinks a successful run could have Ferguson poised for title contention within six or so fights. Poor Kimbo is gonna get destroyed. He doesn't have the chin nor does he have the stamina. Plus his power is overrated. On top of it all I think he will be forced to shave his trademark bear to compete in boxing! Still I'd watch him get ko'ed !
Can't blame them. It's all about making money. They will try and sell it like he's a real street fighter all about exchanging shots and that mma is for fags rolling around on the mat and that nobody can stand toe to toe with him bla bla bla..Butterbean would kill him I think.
I think Kimbo is better off doing acting. He did a decent job in Blood & Bone. He can get little bit parts in action films as the big tough angry dude looking for a fight.
Pathetic. Really just pathetic. Kimbo Slice to enter boxing and Margarito getting a licence. MMA might be about a "bunch of fags rolling round a mat" but I got two points: 1. Slice was KTFO after around 14 seconds of his MMA debut, and clearly lost the stand up and mat aspects of that "fight". He got floored by a midget. 2. If MMA and UFC is so shit.....what James Toney doing it?....James being a legitimate fist-fighter.
James would beat the shit out of Kimbo, was my point....yet James is bailing out. He knows that he cannot hang on in boxing forever so he hopes to make something of himself {make $$$} in MMA.
Bailing out? Have you seen where his boxing career is? He turned a substantial payday to fight Wladimir Klitschko...and that was years ago. Those kind of offers aren't there for him now, and even if they were, they'd seriously threaten his life...certainly the length and quality of his life. For Toney's health alone, I'd prefer not to see him in a boxing ring again.

Toney is finished as a serious boxer and he knows it. My point is that a guy who could and would whip Kimbo is gone to MMA, whereas Kimbo, a guy who couldn't even hack it in MMA, is gone in the opposite direction. Shaw really is an ingnorant cunt. What a guy like Sultan Ibragimov would do to a guy like Kimbo is nobody's business. I think Shaw is still upset over that business in Manchester.
Gary Shaw is the failed MMA promoter who brought Kimbo to CBS, right? Maybe he thinks he's found his Butterbean in boxing. But there'd better be some backlash if Shawtime allows this Kimbo boxing experiment on it's air.
Butterbean was known from the Toughman where you at least have to get in the ring and "tough it out". Kimbo is known from fighting in people's gardens. Shaw is just....disreputable. I wonder will Jack Newfield sit down a write a piece about this. He did for all the other scams and jokes, like Richie Melito.
