James Toney will earn an estimated $750,000 - $1,000,000 at UFC 118

In fact, some of thought you would never see 'James Toney' and 'Genius' in the same sentence. It's alright. Your approval is not a requisite for James Toney to make an extraordinary amount of money in his MMA debut. According to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports, Toney will make an estimated $750,000 to $1,000,000 tomorrow evening while you help your friend clean up the bottle of Corona he just spilled over your living room carpet.

The UFC, led by former boxer-turned-promoter Dana White, has flourished. MMA is the king of the [expletive] right now, Toney said, which is another reason hes here. Hell make an estimated $750,000 to $1 million Saturday. In boxing, I cant get no fights.
Win or lose, James Toney still wins. It's like some twisted game of Candyland where every move will put a year's salary in your pocket. The genius of James Toney will not be determined at UFC 118. It's already been established through a potpourri of vlogs and absurd interviews. Maybe BJ Penn is right, James Toney is 'God's gift to MMA'. <hr> </td> </tr> </tbody></table>

JT got the money for being a draw, not for being good.

No doubt. I seriously under estimated how shitty Toney would look. I've got a 7 year old that wouldn't have been taken down with that sloppy single leg. Hell, let me rephrase that. Sloppy single ankle.

Couture got his BJJ black belt tonight. I wonder if Toney had his wrestling gold belt taken away?

Never liked James Toney so I was glad to see that though I don't follow that stuff and only saw the highlights on ESPN. Just wished he had gotten pounded all about the face and head more and lost that way.

I sure as hell wish Hopkins would get in there next and save boxing's pride.

Yes, because that was a TKO and not a submission.

I agree that in most cases that type of fight would have been boring or not very exciting. However, given the fact that Toney was involved and got spanked, it made it kind of fun.

All I can say is I was watching at sports bar and the place erupted when Couture mounted Toney and start pounding him. It was meaningless in the overall scheme of things, but I have to admit, it was great watching a boxer like Toney get shown how impotent he is the octagon. Apparently that's why most people were watching.

And again, put the whole boxing versu MMA bullshit to bed. Like Couture said, put him in a boxing ring with Toney and he probably gets knocked out in the first round.

    They are just different worlds.
