What a great main event for a free card. Marquardt in his first fight since the loss to Sonnen against a Palhares fighting for the first time since his 90 suspension for tearing up the knee of Tomasz Drwal when he refused to let go of a heel hook. Personally I hope Nate crushes him.

And things finally get tough for Ross Pearson as he faces a legitimate BJJ guy in Cole Miller.

I love free Wednesday night fights. And remember, TUF with GSP and Koscheck debuts right after.

Yeah this should be an entertaining night of fights.

 

I think Pearson will dominate that fight. Either a KO or dominant decision win.

 

Maybe, but I want to see Miller test Pearson's ground game.

 

He's one of the old guard. He's fought a bunch in the UFC back in the early 2000's. Has wins over Josh Thompson and Hermes Franca twice. Losses to Matt Sera, Caol Uno, Joe Daddy. Most recently he's fought for a bunch of small time promotions. He did lose in Elite XC to KJ Noons and at Strikeforce to Bang Ludwig sort of recently too. His last fight was a win in Bellator over Luis Palomino, who I have never even heard of.

He's also the creator of Thugjitsu. ::

 

Ok thanks a lot. I started watching mma with UFC 1 back in the day but around UFC 15 or so turned to being only a casual fan and then roughly 2 years ago started watching it a lot...that's why I never heard of him

I couldn't be happier that Cole choked Pearson out.

Cole Miller is just a tough dude. The guy is skinny as a rail but never gets discouraged, is always looking at ways to end the fight, and is fearless.

I don't know that he ever challenges for a title at 155, but he is fun to watch.

 

Loved his post fight speech about how this is not football and too many people run the clock. We are here to fight etc...I like him already!!

 

By the way, how pathetic did Escudero look last night?

I know he's a TUF winner, but I wouldn't be shocked to see the UFC cut him loose.

He is 2-2 since winning the TUF Finale and he missed weight by almost 5 pounds for last night's fight. That's the kind of shit that sends you back to local cage fighting shows in a hurry.

 

Paulharris is a friggin idiot, and even more stupid than him are the Sherdog guys crying about Nate's win not counting and him winning with a "Cheap Shot" as if you can just stop fighting in the middle of a fucking round.

I'm a Cole Miller fan, he's far from great but that kid fights his ass off and goes for the kill.
