I would agree except for the fact I don't. I've never been high on Dawson.

I don't get all the hype around Dawson. Never have. He's an underachiever and underperformer who gets far to much credit for beating up the geriatric ward.

Each to their own but I kind of think he's a dud.

Dawson's acclaim is due primarily to his dominant win over Adamek.

 

Pavlik isn't 'shot'. He's just not as good as many people tried to claim he was when he beat Taylor.

Couldn't agree more. He's a good fighter but easily the most overrated 'Top-10 P4P' guy of the last few years. He beat a few old guys and the mad Pole and everyone went haywire, conveniently ignoring the fact that he almost lost to an ancient Glen Johnson...

I was telling y'all that Hopkins was going to embarrass that one dimensional chump and was getting heat for it. Now all of y'all are trying to pretend you knew he wasn't all that.

I don't remember. I think I picked Pavlik. But it's beside the point I'm making, which is that just because Pavlik has lost two fights doesn't mean he's no longer a factor or a threat. And that just because he's not as good as many thought he was doesn't mean he now sucks.

 

I can't speak for anyone else but I picked Hopkins in that one. I never rated Pavlik that highly, and it annoyed me Joe didn't go for the fight as I think he would have stopped him.

 

I as well. I think I was the only guy on another forum I frequent who thought Hopkins would take Kelly to school and I'm not even a Hop fan. As far as Joe goes besides the rumours that were circulating at the time I really don't think Pavlik or his team wanted to go there. Smoke and mirrors.

I picked Pavlik on the basis that Hopkins looked finished against Calzaghe. As it turned out, he wasn't, and Calzaghe's win was better than it first appeared. Not that he gets much credit for it round here... :shit::notallthere:

I also confidently believed (and stated as such here), long before the Pavlik- Hopkins fight, that Calzaghe would RAPE Pavlik- terrible style matchup IMHO.
