IMO Floyd is actually underrated with the snap in his shots... I think PAC is the one that would be in trouble and stopped not Floyd
I think the problem here is people using the word "easly" neither guy isbeating the other easly. It wouldn't be such a huge fight if the outcome was a sure bet. Let's be honest, Pacquiao has gradually changed people's expectations of him. At this point the fight is a toss up. I used to think Floyd would win hands down but not anymore. As good as he is Floyd is not in his prime anymore. While Pacquiao always seems to be peaking regardless of the weight. Also gotta give Pacquiao for becoming a better fighter. Not just because he is not as reckless but he is a smarter fighter. As far as Floyd's attitude towards making the fight I'm kind of split. I never questioned Floyd's heart or call him a coward. I think just like Roy and DLH he reached a level where he is too comfortable for his own good. Either way that comes across as being scared to the majority of fans since he seems to be the one keeping the fight from being made.
Good post. In some cases, looking at previous fights will pretty much tell you all you need to know about a coming matchup. But in other cases you can be led far astray by relying on them. For example, when you have fighters who are changing substantially over time, it is not all that useful to look at how they won or lost even 10 fights ago. I think in Pac's case he has become a far better fighter than he once was, and has shored up some weak spots while further fortifying strong spots. If anything, he is still getting better. Floyd on the other hand is most definitely NOT getting better. He may not be slipping much, but he is slipping. He is a step slower then he used to be, and he is more safety oriented than ever right now. It may be fair to say that he is indeed on the slide, although his skills are still incredibly strong. Since Pac has fought a slew of excellent fighters, I think he benefits from that experience and he has also been tested probably as much as he ever will be already. Floyd has avoided many of what would have been the greatest challenges to him, and although he has beaten some very good fighters he has NOT been tested like he should have been had he truly taken on the best consistently. Just seeing him get clocked & rocked by Shane early was a new experience for him, and is indicative of what even a seriously degraded but still talented fighter can do to Floyd at this stage. Floyd will figure out Manny Pac, no doubt, but it will take him 4-5 rounds to do so. I am not sure Floyd can last those rounds without getting hurt by Pac, which then potentially changes the whole fight. I think if you took Pac from 2001 and Floyd from 2001, Floyd wins a lopsided decision. But this is now, and many things have changed. Zab caught Floyd with that straight left, and other punches as well in the first few rounds of their fight. Surely Manny will do the same - but he has devastating one punch power, and he does not seem to get tired even 10 rounds in as opposed to Zab who began to falter in round 5. Add to this the fact that Floyd does appear to be letting his personal issues affect his discipline and his passion to fight. That cannot be underestimated. All it takes is just a modest amount of laziness, cockiness, or spending training time chasing baby mamas, and a great fighter comes in and gets their ass kicked. There is more to this fight than just styles or wins and losses. Despite all of this, I still believe that Floyd should probably be marginally favored, but for me this is about as close to a pick 'em fight as you can get. Which of course makes it even more pathetic that Pac is now fighting Margarito and Floyd is fighting criminal charges.
Margarito is a very dangerous fight for Manny. I'm predicting the upset here. Margarito by mid-late TKO, thus adding Manny to PBF's Hypothetical resume.
Not a chance. I always think that Manny's gonna get overpowered (thought it against Cotto, DLH), & he always proves me wrong. I still can't shake the feeling though Marg is too big & that his chin aint all that, & if Marg catches him clean he'll go ...
Of all things, I would say Margarito's chin is "all that".. I've only seen him shook a few times, and the Mosley stoppage was just the consequence of a sheer protracted hammering Edit: Ignore the above, I thought you were referring to Margarito
I'm really suprised at people that DONT think this would be easy for Floyd.. IMO Pac is aggressive (which is good for Floyd) and he is small Pac is fast but he is sloppy fast where is Floyd is calulating and precision fast this is boxing 101 and floyd puts on a schooling IMO I do think Pac will probably stop Margarito and that will REALLY fuel this fight to get made.. I also have always picked someone to beat Pac.. I really thought there was NO WAY that Pac would beat DLH.. I'm not picking againest Pac anymore (until he fights Floyd)
