Shoot his load in the first round? What you mean throw 15 punches that round...because he won't do much more. Vitaly is going to punish Briggs...dominating...destructive....
Well, yeah. That's basically it. he'll be destroyed. I don't think he'll even come close to landing anything worth talking about. Later he'll say it was his Asthma. cupey
I hear Shannon will be using this song to come into the ring <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2eBkXXSbwlE?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2eBkXXSbwlE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Unbelievable. Fucking Vitali get's more attention for fighting Briggs than Wladimir did for fighting Peter. That's a joke.
How so? They're both getting the same level of US TV coverage (ESPN3.com, with delayed broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2 - I forget which). If anything, I thought a little too much was made of Wlad-Peter II. At least this fight is recognized for the mismatch that it is. some actually tried to hype up the other fight as if Peter ever had a chance - or would even put up a fight.
Of course Vitaly by any measurable standard should easily weather an early storm from Shannon then stop him by the 6th or 7th round. Any on paper technical analysis would support this notion...but particularly in the HW division anomalies to general consensus happen on a somewhat regular basis. Your above analysis would also fit like a glove for Sanders vs W.Klit for example. I believe that one of those anomalies or upsets is going to occur in this fight. Naturaly Shannon will lose in the rematch or any subsequent defense he makes ::
thank you....Briggs is a steroid junkie and will be on some crazy mix for this fight, he'll have a chance in there.
Vitaly CHIN is too good for anomalies..if it was Wladimir then maybe a 5% chance of anomalies...but NO.
I think Wlad looks more athletic and flexible than Vitali. Because this is more eye pleasing to Americans we equate that with being the better fighter. In this case the opposite is true. Cupey
Sanders-Wlad isn't a great example, though. Sanders was a genuine puncher who just had the misfortune of being surrounded by people who grossly mismanaged his career. Big hitter v. chinny offensive-minded (at the time) fighter is the very definition of an underdog having a punchers chance - ditto for McCall-Lewis I - and fitting that both Lewis and Wlad turned to the same trainer to help prevent it from happening again (although Lewis' own ego did him in against Rahman years later). Byrd-Vitali might actually be a better example. Sure Byrd and Briggs couldn't be more opposite as far as fighters go (hell as people in general go). But the likelihood of either fighter beating Vitali - then or no - require the same flukish instance occurring.
I'd argue in a heart beat that Vitali is generally the more exciting fighter to watch, at least ever since Wlad hooked up with Steward and became a Lennox clone.
Certainly is. Never said he wasn't. But the more aesthetically pleasing style of the two brothers belongs to Wlad. I think people fell prey to the HBO hype. Cupey
the reason I picked Sanders vs Wlad is because Sly said Briggs even in his prime couldn't beat Vitaly. The same could have been said for an old Sanders facing Wlad who on paper even in his prime couldn't have beat Wlad.
Yes but it is a minor part. Boxing the way technique books teach is much more important. If you are able not to get knocked out in progress, it is just a nice extra bonus
These days Klitschko opponents are so mismatched that the only thing remains to talk about is the opponent. And when I mean talk about the opponent I mean make fun of opponent. And making fun of a heavyweight because he's fat and lazy (Peter) is so 2009..2008..2007...2006...2005...etc...Now making fun of Briggs' asthma is in right now so hence more talk about the fight.
He could step to the side, turn his opponent, slide in and out for 12 rounds without even breathing hard...for a guy that size his footwork is fine.
It's fine against the Shannon Briggs' & Albert Sosnowski's of the world which, I suppose, is as good as it needs to be for him at this point.
