Yeah, Because it's a Lb for Lb List...By INCLUDING Cyborg, U're REDUCING it to Gender for Gender...As if ANYBODY Else Gives a Shit about Women's MMA...When Cyborg Whipped the ULTRA Hot Gina Carano, She KILLED Any Hopes of Women's MMA Becoming Popular...

Any and all MMA fighters are eligible for this list. Nowhere does it say 'Men Only'. Cyborg is an MMA fighter. That's the bottom line.

And people do care about women's MMA, Reed. Cyborg and Carano main evented a show. There have been women's fights on CBS. Cyborg just fought on Showtime. Bellator is holding a woman's tournament next season. Even Dana White admitted considering adding women to the WEC but is holding off until the talent pool deepens.

It's certainly not on par with the popularity of Men's MMA, but to say nobody gives a shit about it is just wrong.

People "Gave a Shit" about Gina Carano, Dude...It's NO Coincidence that MMA's HOTTEST Chick was Also Involved in the VAST MAJORITY of the Televised Women's MMA Bouts...

But hey, it's YOUR List & YOUR Forum...If U Wanna TRICK UP your Lb for Lb List w/an ABSURD Inclusion, that's your Prerogative...

If nobody cares about women's MMA outside of Carano, why did Cyborg just fight on Showtime? Why is Bellator having a woman's tournament? Why did Dana White say he's willing to bring women into the WEC if the talent pool deepens?

You may not care about women's MMA other than Carano, but you obviously don't speak for everybody.

Cyborg is Probably Filling Dates that Showtime HOPED & PRAYED Carano would B Filling...Dana White's Comment was a NICE Way of Saying "Thanks, but NO Thanks"...

It'll B YEARS, Probably DECADES Before the Talent Pool in Women's MMA is Such that it'll B Featured in the UFC...

    Don't Hold your Breath...

    My list was like this:

    1) Silva
    2) GSP
    3) Aldo
    4) Shields
    5) Fitch

I would love for someone to explain to me how Rua deserves a Top 5 spot and Shields doesn't?

Rua within the last 2 and a half years lost badly to Griffin and barely got by a 90 year old Coleman. And let's not forget, he did LOSE against Machida in the first fight. Even if you disagree with the decision, he is still 3-2 in his last 5 with one of the wins against a guy any other 205 pounder kills in Coleman.

Meanwhile, Jake Shields hasn't lost since 2004 and has ripped off 14 straight wins including beating guys like Imada, Okami, Condit, Nick Thompson, Paul Daley, Lawler, Mayhem and Dan Henderson in two different weight classes.

By the way, I've reconsidered my stance on Cyborg's inclusion. The list is P4P. It doesn't say P4P against the same sex. So unless Cyborg can beat guys, she shouldn't be ranked among the guys.

Because Shogun is god and doesn't suck.

But seriously, in terms of longevity and overall careers, Shogun has him beat. When it comes to recency, Shogun has him beat. When it comes to not looking like a boring piece of shit, Shogun has him beat.

    Shogun > Shields

Yeah I always make the mistake of basing my picks on actual records and recent fights.

And recently it's a 14 fight win streak compared to getting choked out by Forest Griffin. Yep.

And I'm a huge fan of Machida and give Rua a ton of credit for his win over The Dragon. But please, Shields just hasn't been beaten in almost 7 years.

Too bad Shogun has been on all the biggest shows since he reached adulthood and Shields just became relevent in the last 2 years or so.

Well, that's why it's important to remember this P4P ranking isn't from 2 years ago. It's for July 2010.

And the truth be told, Shields has been dominant and Rua stunk up the joint against Griffin and Coleman within his last 5 fights.

If we take this poll right before Rua broke his arm in the first Coleman fight, this isn't even a debate. He was the man. Unfortunately this ain't 2006.

But nevermind, it just hit me, you didn't even vote so you shouldn't even be involved in this discussion.

Everyone already knows he's #1. This list is the top 5 after Eddie.

1-GSP ( don't like him at all but hard to knock his dominance )
2- Silva - dodge a huge bullet and is obviously on the way down but still on a impressive winning strike and with the other top guy's losing, keeps his high position.
3 - Aldo - not too lon ago, thought he was kinda of overrated, but his destruction of Gamburyan turned me over. His quality of opposition is feeble compared to the others on the list, and I may be jumping the gun a bit as he seems a little bit too patient, but my guess is he will be a force for the years to come

4- Fedor - Sure he lost, but so what, everyone lose, still hard to beat his resume and dominance over the years. And would be a solid favorite to avenged his defeat vs Werdum. But he seems to be on his way down, and would pick Overeem if they ever fight

5 - Shogun Rua - The last few years been a roller coaster ride for the Shogun. But his ko of Machida and early carreer brillance ives him the last spot.
