The fight is just around the corner and there are no signs of recent hoopla. Will the bout fail to attract mainstream attention or are the hardcore fans really boycotting this fiasco?

What kind of hoopla do you want??? It's just like Pac vs. Clottey....but it will make a whole bunch more money because Margarito has the mexican fans behind him...

and it still a month away...

I think come November we will hear mor buzz about the fight. Regardless who he is fighting, a Pacquiao fight won't go under the radar.

It's early, but I guess it's no surprise that some of the boxing media hasn't exactly gone out of their way to hype this one up, given that many are upset the fight has been made.

Still, once 24/7 gets in full gear and the fight gets closer, and it becomes a topic among the general (English-speaking) sports media - and not just the boxing specific writers and sites - word will spread as it often does.

It wasn't too long ago that Mayweather was a top story on Sportcenter just for making a video rant about Pacquiao.

There's plenty of interest in careers of these two boxers.

So, until the word spreads, here's some Boom:

what hoopla? I'm not interested in Margarito anymore since:

    A) Mosley already beat him senseless not long agp

    B) He's a proven cheater and he does not deserve a boxing license, period.

Manny is great for boxing, without him it would suck a whole lot more than it currently does.

I'm hoping margarito pulls the upset OR Pac wins and Floyd gets jail time. Either is suitable. If Floyd goes to jail this is 1991 all over again.

More ppl cared when Mike went to jail, and were highly antisipating him getting out. Nobody gives a fuck if Floyd goes to jail.... or if he ever gets out.

come on...the biggest fight in boxing history? Everyone wants to see this fight...it's the fight to save boxing. :kidcool:

As soon as Floyd gets the slap on the wrist and there's a hint the fight is makeable the Floydidiots will be back en mass touting his greatness as if none of this ever happened.

Margarito looks like he put in the WORK for this fight in terms of PHYSICAL preparation. He is looking HUGE and mad RIPPED.

He will benefit from the 150 lbs weight limit. But I don't know if he still has a chin left, after all the damage he took from Mosley.

Where exactly did I say anything about great fights? I said he's great for boxing. These two things have nothing to do with eachother. Pac draws mainstream attention. Nobody gives a shit about anyone in boxing other than Mayweather and Manny.

It says a lot that he is allowed to weigh in at 150 and Cotto at 145. They obviously think that Margarito is shot.

Was always a big Margarito fan, even believe him when he says he didnt know, although I dont think you can give him the benefit of the doubt given the nature of the misdeed

I'm looking forward to this, Margarito has a high punishement threshold and isn't easily discouraged, he wont allow Pac to coast

Good point....Plus in his fights at Welterweight...Pacquiao has come out of looking bruised and swollen in the face...even if it seems that in thee fight he isn't taking much punishment.
