http://mmafightvideosonline.blogspot.com/2010/10/james-mcsweeney-vs-fabio-maldonado.html check it out. First round is all McSweeney Second round is all Maldonado Third round Maldonado stops him on his feet in the first 30 seconds.
He is 22-0 (21) in professional boxing. I know his opposition is shit and all but for mma standards that's very impressive. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=171565&cat=boxer
Not overly impressive, it's McSweeny in there after all. I was impressed with his patience and his punch selection in the third when he had McSweeny wilting. Great body shots also.
Dude, I gotta be honest with you. Maldonado's stand up looked like shit until McSweeney gassed. In the third round, sure Maldonado put his punches together well but McSweeney was done. James McSweeney just isn't a good mixed martial artist.
He had some sick body shots before McSweeny gasses. I think that had a lot to do with how slow he was in the third. I agree with you though, not too impressive. I liked the shots he threw to finish though.
Fabio has very good hands and his chin is pretty damn solid too. Too bad Jardine is gone. That would be a vicious knockout for Fabio's highlight reel.
I wouldn't count on it. Sure it's possible for anyone to knock out Jardine. However, Jardine ain't going to gas like McSweeney and give up the easy KO. Jardine is a tough dude. He has a chin that can be cracked but he can also take a hell of a beating. Just based on the little I've seen of Maldonado, I would favor Jardine. Fabio has been beaten by lesser fighters than Jardine.
I agree with TLC. Anyone know what he walks around at? Just curious. He almost looks like he could make 185. He has some potential though. He should get with Greg Jackson.
McSweeney actually looked pretty good in the first. A lot better than he has ever done before, and it looked as though the move to 205 was a very wise one. I still think that to be the case, but he gassed horribly in the 2nd, even before Maldonando started to land. But McSweeney showed in the first that it's not hard to keep Maldonado at bay, better fighters won't struggle to do that over 3 rounds.
