Just wondering why nobody is talking bout 24/7 Pacman/Margarito. This seems like the perfect time for upset. Manny is very busy and is cutting corners in the gym. He didn't look good against less than par level sparing partner's. Margarito looks like he is in great shape and having a great camp. I think it will be pacman MD. Antonio has a way of making fights ugly and can take rounds by coming forward and simply out working opponents.:dunno:

I liked Pacquiao's response to whether or not Margarito knew what was in his wraps.

i think it is very unprofessional of roach and even the narrator to refer to him as "margaritA"

For the production level and it's writing, the opening is absolutely STUNNING.

Easy fight for Pacman. Margarine...is basically a punching bag. A fatality is possible in this fight.

The only guy, besides Mayweather, that can possibly beat Pacquiao is Berto.

Margarito is just so slow and worse a slow starter. He's got a good chin, but it's the punches that you don't see that get you. Margarito should use his size and lean on him, hold and put his weight on him to wear him out early. He should engage early, but just try to gauge Pacquiao's speed, stay close and work the body. Margarito doesn't have the speed or reflexes to counter him like Juan Manuel Marquez did in does two epic battles. So Marg should rough him up a little and then go after him.

It doesn't play in all regions on HBO.com..... I had to watch it here...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ec2m5LYoG4

Great ep. It gets a lot of flack, and i prefer 360, but i can't help but get pumped for a fight by watching this.

The insight into Manny's sparring was very informative....not many camps would let you put out that footage when the fighter looks so poor, so i was particuarly surprised to see this included (...i'd read about Manny's lack of sharpness)

While REED Certainly RESPECTS your Opinion, he Couldn't Disagree More, 3OG...

SPEED is the Most Decisive Factor Here & Pac has ALL of it...BECAUSE of Margarito's Workrate & Aggressive, Come Forward Style, he's TAILOR MADE for Manny Pacquiao...Similar to Ricky Hatton, Margarito is Going to Try to IMPOSE Himself Upon Manny Pac, which is THE WORST Possible Fightplan a Guy Can Use...

Pac will B Mobile (w/Out Running) & Countering w/COMBINATIONS of Punches...Margarito has ALWAYS had Subpar Defense...Now he's Matched Up w/a Swift, Accurate PUNCHER in Pacquiao...Margarito's Tough & Brave, but by the 7th or 8th he'll Get Stopped...

    STYLISTICALLY, this is a MISmatch...

His Response was LOGICAL...Anybody that's Wrapped Hands, Had their Hands Wrapped or SEEN a Guy Get his Hands Wrapped KNOWS there's NOfuckingWAY Possible that a Guy Could "Unknowingly" have Plaster Inserts Mixed in his Wraps...

Unless he DETACHED his Handwrapped Arm & Capetillo Took it to Another Room, Margarito CLEARLY KNEW what was Going On...Yet he PERSISTS in Insulting the Intelligence of the Boxing Public....

    Good Episode...

REED Agrees with Most, that Margarito DOES NOT Deserve this Fight, but REED will Take PLEASURE in Watching Manny Pac Systematically DESTROY him...REED Looks @ This Fight as Margarito's PUNISHMENT for his Transgressions...& his Flogging will B PUBLIC...

On 1 Hand, Margarito & his Handlers Want to Play the "I Didn't Know" Card, but on the Flipside, they Want to USE the Handwrap Fiasco as an EXCUSE for the 1-Sided Loss to Sugar Shane???...While REED Can't Say he "Hates" Margarito, this 1st Episode of 24/7 Certainly DIDN'T Endear him to REED Anymore...

Margarito has a HOT Wife Though...Even Though he's a LYING CHEAT, he's Got GREAT Taste in Women....

then why did roach and steward, and a handful of other noteworthy trainers insist they couldve put such an insert into the wraps without their fighter knowing?

I thought he might be referring to the Hauser article, I thought both Roach and Steward were interviewed for it, although it's been a while since reading it, I don't remember much of what they said in it.

As much as Mayweather's become a cariacture for bad guys, manny's treatment is equally as annoying in the opposite direction. HBO all but had him walking on water.

Manny's also talking a little shit..."however" will admit to laughing at the bit about not fighting Mayweather...comparing his career to that of Floyd's.

Meanwhile, Margarito’s position boils down to the following: “Capetillo was solely responsible for acquiring the gauze to make the knuckle pads. Margarito was not present when Capetillo prepared the knuckle pads. Margarito was totally unaware that anything improper had been inserted in the knuckle pads.â€￾

    Is that possible?

    Yes.

The inserts certainly weren’t visible to Margarito. We know that because Naazim Richardson (who was looking for irregularities) saw no visual evidence of them.

Nor is it a given that Margarito would have felt them.

Emanuel Steward, Freddie Roach, Don Turner, and Dan Birmingham have been honored as “Trainer of the Yearâ€￾ nine times by the Boxing Writers Association of America. Pat Burns trained Jermain Taylor for both of his victories over Bernard Hopkins and is a former police detective. Naazim Richardson trains Shane Mosley and is the man who discovered the illegal inserts in Margarito’s knuckle pads.

    Their thoughts are instructive:

Dan Birmingham: “My guys watch me closely when I wrap. But what you’re talking about here happens pretty quickly. The pad goes on and then you put more gauze over it. So sure; it’s possible that the fighter wouldn’t know.â€￾

Pat Burns: “Some fighters don’t pay attention when their hands are being wrapped. They’re listening to music or talking to someone or watching a television monitor. And even if they’re watching, they’re not wondering what’s in the knuckle pad. If I wanted to put a few layers of hardened gauze inside a fighter’s knuckle pads, I could and the fighter would never know.â€￾

Freddie Roach: “If I did something like that, which I wouldn’t, I think I could do it without my fighter knowing. And if I was the fighter; Eddie Futch [who trained Roach] would never have done something like that. But if he had, I think he could have kept it secret from me.â€￾

Don Turner: “I wouldn’t do it. I don’t cheat. But if I wanted to, unless what I was putting into the knuckle pad was very heavy, I could do it in a way that the fighter wouldn’t know. Even if the fighter is watching me wrap, he might not know because he wouldn’t see or feel the difference.â€￾

Emanuel Steward: “My experience has been that a fighter watches very closely when his hands are being taped. But in a situation like this, it’s definitely possible that a trainer could put an insert in the knuckle pad without the fighter knowing. When I get in the dressing room before a fight, one of the first things I do is make two knuckle pads and put them on the table. I don’t put them in my bag. I leave them out on the table, and so does every other trainer I know of. So I have a hard time believing that Capetillo took the wrong knuckle pads out of his bag by mistake. But the fighter doesn’t watch me make the knuckle pads. A lot of times, the fighter isn’t even there when I make them. So the fighter wouldn’t know if I put something inside the pads unless I told him or the pads were heavy enough that he could feel a difference.â€￾

Naazim Richardson: “I’m the wrong person to ask about this. If a guy is driving a truck and tries to run my daughter over and misses, don’t ask me what the punishment should be. But to be fair, yes, a fighter might not know.â€￾

If he said he knew he would probably be banned and possibly jailed. Instead he gets a 7 figure payday to fight one of the most popular athletes on the planet.
