Good boxer should always beat a good puncher. The trick is whether Maidana has the brains to make the adjustments and get his own shots off. Khan could try to bumrush him from the outset and overwhelm him....who knows....but if Maidana lands flush Khan will go into his shell, if not out of the ring. I have to go with basic boxing rules on this one....that means Khan by decision. The leveller is of course, pardon the pun, in Maidana's hands.
Seeing as Khan is like 5'11 with big shoulders I want to see him fight someone his own size. Khan Vs Frock is the fight I want, classic domestic battle, they are pretty much the same size, and it's the classic speedster vs slugger battle.
You're a sick man, MWS, a sick man. The difference in powers of resistance of those two men is akin to a bar of lead being thrown into a bonfire and a bar of deuter-tex-onamide-spaceage-shit being thrown into a bonfire. Khan melts. Froch get's mildly singed.
I was just watching the Maidana v Ortiz fight and boy Maidana was savage! Full credit to Ortiz, he didn't back down and did put maidana down 3 times, but Maidana's true bulldog like style worked and he couldn't miss with that right once he got going. Start of that 6th round you could clearly see in Ortiz that he was shitting it. Khan needs a masterful performance to beat this guy and I believe he will do it.

"Paulie Outta Jersey"..........Kevin sounds like an extra in Donnie Brasco. Interviewer: "Amir Khan Hits Pretty Hard" Kelley: "HAUAHA?" I think Kelley said something key: he referred to a "false sense of security" on the behalf of Khan.
Maidana is gonna fuck goldfish gaze up i think. And Im gonna smile a really big contented smile, open a strongbow and sigh slowly in the knowledge that the cosmos is aligned as it should be.
i think khan wins convincingly on points. maidana hits hard, but is fairly one dimensional. ortiz could beat maidana in a rematch too if he doesnt go out and busts his nuts in the first 5 rounds.
Yea hut what's with you still drinking the fizzy apple juice shite? I thought Glasgow was meant to be full of double ard bastards?
Lager is fucking piss water. Fizzy rotten yeast you can taste in your throat on tuesday. Strongbow's a nice cider, the 2nd best of the cheap fizzy varieties behind Marks and Spencer's own brand. There are obviously better, but if im watching boxing i'll have at least 6 & Im not paying for 6 bottles of £2.20 westons or Somerset vintage in honour of an Amir fucking Khan fight, yo. So in this picture Im painting here it'll either be strongbow or Marks & Sparks own. Lager stinks and makes you fat.
Disappointing hut. It seems like all the real hardcore Glaswegians have relocated to London. The guys you see on shepherds bush green at 8am drinking super tennants. That's real shit, respect to them.
Nah REAAAL shit is white cider. Try drinking 3litres of white lightning and report back if you can still type. Tennents super is baby sham versus White lightning, brewed in satan's personal laboratory. (Extra '50% free' since about 1999. ::)
I want to agree with some of you. I'd like to see Maidana win... but my gut is telling me Khan is going to dominate the fight. I don't think it's going to be very competitive.
For real. I stopped drinking it because I could literally feel my kidney's hurting the night after. Insane, insane stuff. Nothing will get you as drunk and scrappy as White Lightning for that price. There's something in it.
Andy Murray and Khan are good friends. It's a good thing Khan doesn't drink as you know him and Andy would be on a rampage smashing people up in Glasgow... "Tennis players are as tough as boxers" - Andy Murray
Maidana showed against ortiz early in their fight that if he gets tagged by precise shots, he'll go down. Yes he showed great heart by flooring ortiz as soon as he reached his feet, but against khan and having roach in his corner, khan has the tools to stop maidana. Ortiz is a slick operator and has the punching power, but is not as fast as khan and speed kills as we say. Maidana's chin is suspect and people have gone on about khan having a dodgy chin, but khan's balance/footwork before he joined up with roach was nowhere near as good as it is now which would result in him going down easily from an effective solid punch.
My fucking God, what a night out that is....must be like if a really well mannered cow who doesn't get out much and manically depressed Koala bear were hooked up to Stephen Hawkins voice machines to shoot the breeze together. *suicide*
on first glance i like Khan to win on points on second glance i like Maidana at +240 odds to catch Khan at some point and do enough damage to stop him
I agree with this. Those are pretty steep odds for someone whose already been ko'd against a guy like Maidana who figures to land. Plus, I would figure that Khan will be more apt to be tight in this fight, constantly worried about getting hit, and maybe less able to take a good shot than he otherwise would be. Maidana is one of the few fighters I think would benefit from a new trainer. I like him a lot and have for a long time, but he makes some really bad mistakes that do nothing but put him at risk of getting hit. A guy like Khan figures to take advantage of these mistakes where other opponents haven't always been able to. Unfortunately for me, these are my two favorite fighters at this weight class and I would much prefer to see them fighting Bradley and Alexander than each other.
