He just fought last week and went 5 rounds with Alexander Schlemenko. He came out in the first round like Mike Tyson but finished the fight like Cole Konrad. He is an Olympic Judo practicioner with great takedowns. He is also seems like hes got some pop in his hands. Personally I think he belongs in the top 20 in the world at the weight but not Top 10.
Thats a stretch. He's good, but until he beats someone else considered "good", outstanding is hyperbole. The two most popular names on his resume are a 1st round loss to Moussasi and a draw with Kyle Noke. I would like to see him fight better competition to prove I'm wrong. That doesn't seem likely though.
He LOOKS to be very promising, BUT a lack of A and B level opponents in Bellator could be the reason behind the hype. With recent fighters being cut from the UFC, there are some good matchups out there for Lombard - Jardine and Irvin notably. Until he's tested by a fighter that people are familiar with, the jury is still out. A draw with Kyle Noke shouldn't define his early career - Noke is a stud AND maybe Lombard is a slow starter in his career. TLC - you dismissed Fedor as a 'fraud' last week. Now you call a relative unknown 'outstanding.' Are we supposed to believe you based upon your history of "superior MMA knowledge?" Come on, dude.
He said "relative" unknown. Personally I know the sport and have watched as much Lombard as anyone. And to call him outstanding while calling Fedor a fraud, is just ridiculous no matter how you slice it.
You've watched as much Lombard as anyone yet you claimed he lost in the 1st round to Mousasi when it was in fact a competitive decision? Hector for the last 4 years, as reeled of an outstanding record, and is extremely well rounded, and he's no jack of all trades, master of none, he's exceptional in his wrestling, clinch game, and his striking. Using that same logic, Eddie Alvarez is a "relative" unknown, however he is still outstanding.
And you've claimed that Fedor's win over Arona was a 'job' when in fact, Arona won the 1st round and lost the rest......further on that point, it's the only round Fedor ever lost in his entire career. Most of these fights you never saw because you probably weren't old enough to watch PPV. PWND. you FAIL. again. The point above is that Lombard has yet to be tested. If you wanna defend him, go ahead. He has YET TO BE TESTED.....
Eddie Alvarez also just made Roger Huerta quit. QUIT. Huerta is well-established and has co-main-evented for the biggest org in the world. THAT is a notable victory for Alvarez. Again..... Lombard is lacking a notable victory:shadow: Again......TLC fail.
Arona won round 2 pretty easily too, unless you take into account the joke of a ruleset that RINGS had, otherwise, futile guilotine attempts that put you in side mount when they are easily defended, and sloppy heel hooks that get you mounted aren't usually considered winning. Otherwise, Dunham shouldve beat Sherk 30-25. But he didn't, because sub attempts don't really mean shit if the guy is never in any danger. It'd be the equivalent of throwing a huge haymaker that hits air. Then again, Leonard Garcia seems to win ever decision, so with that in mind, it's not that big of a suprise Arona got robbed.
Dude, RINGS rules are a mile removed from the sport you watch today. It's called evolution. Under the RINGS rules, Arona lost! Sorry to burst your little arugumentative bubble, kid.
Gold Glover you will come to see that although, TLC does have some decent MMA knowledge, he flip flops all over the place. He has no consistency to his posts and contradicts himself time and time again. Its quite funny when you see it unravel on him.:clapagain:
Exactly, triplesec has an habit to talk about thing he has no clue about. Lombard 's a stud, no doubt. As for the fedor/arona fight, it was a really close fight, a lot of people have arone winning it. Still, Rings rule were a joke, so it don't really count
