Its a bit of a mythical matchup but I would love to see GSP/Silva. Especially after the way Sonnen controlled him. I would put my money on GSP

Not sure I'd go that far. But I don't see Silva being able to get away from his ground control.

sonnen is bigger and more relentless w/ his takedowns. and let's face it, that's all he fucking does. not sure if gsp would be as effective. hopefully, he'll take care of koscheck and silva knocks out belfort to make it happen.

Also more importantly, Sonnen has an extremely underrated chin. Despite losing 11 fights, in almost 40, he's never been KO'd. His beard is more than dependable, and although he was rocked twice by Silva, I can't say that I wouldn't expect those shots he took to either KO chinny GSP, or just make him fold and submit to strikes once the storm came.

    anderson silva vs melvin manhoef

that would be a war, and i think melvin takes him out if silva tries to stand with him

Overeem vs cain . I think alisatair the best hw in the world, if cain had problem with kongo mt, 'd like to see him try to deal with overeem outstanding mt and strenght

Silva is an excellent counter puncher and a very long dude. It would be hard for GSP to get in TD range. I think Silva Matt Serra's him personally.

Now that's funny. Silva would easily stop Manhoef.

No shit. For a minute I thought maybe there was another Manhoef that he was talking about. Manhoef isn't in the same league as Akiyama let alone Silva.

I am not trying to be funny, but did you see Manhoef/Lawlor? Manhoef has power, but his stand up is really wide and sloppy. Anderson, would literally pick him apart and end it whenever he wanted to.

And Overeem is the best HW? For what? Fighting Rogers? He's the only live body Overeem has faced in MMA in quite a while. Overeem taking a bunch of time off from MMA is the best thing that ever happened to him. His ranking has sky rocketed.

he literally hasn't done shit in MMA for fucking years. He is so over rated it is ridiculous.

I will make a prediction that he doesn't defend his SF title for at least a year from the date of the fight with Rogers.

No shit. Maybe Overeem is the best HW in the world, but you wouldn't know it based on ACTUAL fights. The guy has had 5 MMA fights in the last 2 years against a virtual "who's not" and somehow that makes him the best HW in the world?

you guys are funny. Manhoef koed Hunt, a K1 champ. He has incredible standup, Silva was getting knocked all over the cage standing up by chael sonnen. He's washed up, but even then, Melvin was always a better striker. Koed a lot of good guys in K1, and gave a good fight to Bojansky.

as for Overeem, of course it's just a hunch, hopefully, he'll prve me right in the coming years

He knocks out Hunt and that somehow translates to being able to knock out Silva. Unreal.

And just for the record, I picked Sonnen to win. I wanted Sonnen to win. But Silva absolutely did not get knocked all over the cage in the stand up. Sonnen had a couple of moments standing. But Silva was clearly the far more dangerous of the two and Sonnen couldn't wait to get it to the ground.

To mention Manhoef in the same sentence with Silva is ridiculous. Manhoef isn't even among the top 20 Middleweights in the world right now.

    Velasquez?

Wrong... Lets compare their last 5 MMA Fights:

    Velasquez:
    Stojnic, Kongo, Rothwell, Nog, Lesnar

    Overeem:
    Goodridge, Sylvester, Thompson, Fujita, Rogers

Is there even a comparison to be made? By the way, that's the same James Thompson that was stopped by Kimbo.

Holy shit this is a ridiculous debate.

Manhoef swings wide and for the fences everytime. I don't think the guy actually knows what a jab is. If Robbie Lawlor can pick his shots against Manhoef, Silva absolutely toys with him. And what does Sonnen using his wrestling on Silva have anything to do with Manhoef? when was the last time you saw Manhoef go for a takedown and apply some GNP?

I know what you think of Rogers so that only enhances the point I'm making.
