What is there not to like about Pacquiao?

From a boxing fan's perspective, especially the ones who are never satisfied; Pac has to be a boxing fan's dream!

He fights everyone, he has exciting fights, ALL of the time (Even if it's just him being active i.e. Clottey). He has speed, power and he is also a southpaw.

He does not talk a lot of crap and he respects his opponents. I can't remember the last fighter in the last 20 years who has done it that way. With the exception of the Mayweather fight (And the ball has been in Mayweather's court), every tough fight he could make has been made.

Roy Jones was a hell of a fighter, but he did not fight everyone.

Riddick Bowe was very good and we know how it went with Lennox Lewis.

Well, Lennox Lewis is probably the closest to fighting everyone, considering he beat everyone he ever faced (Including re-matches), but he did not give Vitaly the rematch, so you can kinda hold that against him.

James Toney fought everyone, but he was a shit talking supreme....

Anyway, you get my drift.

Other than flat out not liking Pacquiao, what would be the reason to have a reason not to like him? Try and be serious.

 

Normally the fans who don't like him are those whose heroes Pacquiao demolished (Morales, Barrera, COTTO, Hatton etc) or those whose heroes he poses a threat to (Mayweather), everybody else has no reason not to like him unless they don't like highly skilled action packed fighters who give them their money's worth, or maybe they don't like Philippinos .

 

Pac making up new weight classes is pretty annoying to me.

 

I imagine that those who have bet against him don't like him that much.

 

Pacquiao is awesome....but if he talked shit like James Toney...and goes in there and fuck guys up like he does...he would be super awesome!!! :bears:

Get used to the hybrid weight classes. Hell, I'm not too fond of the "Super" and "Light" titles before and after the original eight! If we can get used to those annoying hybrids, then it should not be a stretch getting used to these "new" catch-weight classes.

In fact, that's one of the biggest reasons why I'm picking Pac. It reminds me of Louis/Conn I (Although it's only Pac with the hall of fame talent)....... Pac fights the same way Conn did; in and out at all angles. UD for Pac!

However, I'd love to see a Ko for Freddie!

 

I love him, what I hate is Freddie Roach asking for a fucking catchweight everytime he fights.

A. He beat your favorite fighter
B. He is making your favorite fighter look like a coward
C. He is short (some people don't like short people)
D. He is Asian (some people don't like Asian people)
E. He is from the Philipines (some people don't like Philipinos)
F. He is too nice (Pople think that makes him fake)
G. He is too good (People are jealous of others who are TOO succesful)
H. They think he uses PEDs
I. They don't like his fans thus they don't like him
J. They don't like Freddie Roach thus they don't like Manny
K. Most love him and some just love to go against the grain

As a boxing fan you've gotta love Pac. We'll miss him when he's gone. A fighter like that comes around once every 20 years on average. The last one before him was a prime Tyson in the 80s.

the cotto fight was mildly entertaining for a few rounds but other than that i havent considered any of his bouts to be exciting since marquez.

If you aren't on drugs you shouldn't have a problem taking a drug test

The fact that he would pass up MILLIONS of dollars to fight floyd because of a drug test says a LOT
