I watched the entire Weigh in live in HD and I hate to say it but Margarito is gonna have a 15-20 pound weight advantage fight night. Manny Pac looks very small compared to this cheating fuck. Unless Mosley damaged Margarito in some way I see a very rough fight for Pacman Saturday night. He's gonna have to be very smart.
Honestly, I am a bit surprised at the size difference. From some angles, Manny looks like Plasterito's kid. Oscar is significantly bigger than Manny (which is why I picked Oscar to win of course) but he didn't dwarf Manny like this.
Haha, that's funny. I was about to post that exact pic from fightnews and say actually in this pic he doesn't look that soft. He does in the default fightnews pic and that video though.
This. People say he must be juicing because of his ridiculous power, but all you have to do is look at his legs to know where that power comes from. When you have a solid foundation like that and you know how to properly throw a punch and you couple that with his crazy speed... the guy doesn't need any supplements. Very bad comparison, but it reminds me of Tua. The guy had tree trunks and that was the source of his power.
Actually a better comparison is Tyson. Mike's calves are slim, but look at his fucking thighs. That's a big part of prime time Tyson's explosive power. Even though Tyson is a small heavy, it was his solid leg base plus crazy speed that generated his power.
The 24/7 show last night on sky sports anytime was real insightful. Manny came across abit lackluster in certain footage of him sparring, but i'm still confident he'll do the job convincingly. Margarito looks in tip top shape and looks ready for war, which this fight will be. Also the show showed khan sparring again with pac and coming out on top!
I think he's juicing because he does not appear to get tired in 12 rounds now although he did at lighter weights (pre-PEDs), has moved up and KO'd just about everyone even at their natural weights, thus defying all historical trends established in the pre-PED era, his punch output has been going UP as he moved up, thus again defying historical trends and comparisons as well as physiological norms, and he is able to take punches better as he moved up, thus again making him stand pretty much alone in the annals of boxing history. I have said this before, I will say it again, in his first 44 fights at or near his natural weight he went a respectable 39-3-2 and got KO'd a few times along the way. On his way to become a very good veteran. After that, he started moving up, putting on weight.. something changed and he became possibly the best p4p of ALL TIME, crushing elite natural welters with relative ease, unshakable by flush shots that at his natural fighting weight had him hurt or out. He demolishes fighters with 15-20 pound advantages on him with EASE now... yet down at feather 5 years ago JMM stood with him (and basically schooled him IMO) for 12 rounds despite round one seeing JMM hit with flush power shot after shot in the first round... and getting up. What would you have said after the first JMM fight if someone told you Manny Pac would be the HEAVY favorite against a 150 (or 160 in the ring) pound prime Antonio Margarito in 5 years? Right now wouldn't you even favor him against most 154 or maybe 160 pounders? So what changed? If simply "putting on weight" could do this for a fighter, wouldn't we see every 108 pounder move up to 145 or so and dominate? Or after the first 11 years of fighting, did Pac get SO much better in the last 5 years that he is literally 10 times the fighter he was before? Everyone can make their own decisions about whether or not Pac needs supplements. On the power issue, there is no question that some fighters are naturally better punchers than others. I have always felt that it was a synergy of pretty much all the muscles in your body that creates exceptional power. It is a fluid cooperation of legs pushing, stomach and back making the torso spin, proper balance, shoulders and arms flexing with precise timing, and then landing the punch at such a distance that it is at it's apex of power when it connects. I think if you are missing any one part of the equation, your power diminishes even if the shots look good. There are weird exceptions, of course, like Foreman who seemed to arm-punch half the time yet still had devastating power - but those are rare. Tyson indeed had great leg strength, but he also got immense torque from spinning the torso quickly (almost like a good golf shot) as he pushed with his legs, all working toward such great acceleration at the time of impact.
Simple question for you Outlander. If by your own account, he went from mounting the respectable record he has at lower weights, and being - to put words on your mouth - a solid but not truly exceptional fighter/champion on the world stage, why aren't there more Manny Pacquiao's in boxing? If all it takes is some PEDs to turn you into the fighting machine that Manny Pacquiao is, why is he so unique? Why aren't more people taking these magic PEDs, moving up in weight and destroying bigger fighters? Afterall rumour has it that PEDs aren't exactly uncommon in boxing, especially with the supposedly easy to pass urine test etc.
Are you joking? The previous sparring setup they showed was obviously staged, with Pacman not really doing anything, and being dominated by Khan. This sparring session, Khan landed one punch, and basically showed Manny teeing off on him. Again, probably staged to show Manny looking good, but either way, Khan landed one right hand, literally, didn't come close to "coming out on top" hahaha.
Let's not open that can of worms again. Seriously. I couldn't be more bored of this debate in a million years... MTF
It's unbelievable how stupid people in here are... especially mexican wedding shirt, who also can see if someones height on boxrec is one inch off or shit like that, no matter at what angle or lighting the picture was taken. yeah in the clottey fight ripped as fuck but now not as toned a lil soft u can CLEARLY see that... :scared: Clottey fight yesterday...
I've already responded and said the updated pic on fightnews he doesn't look soft. But on the video and this main pic he DOES look softer than usual, that's undeniable. Softer than the Clottey weigh in or any other. It's possibly the lightning/exposure of the main pic and the video. In the updated weigh in pics including the one you posted, he looks identical to the Clottey fight.
:: And Godfather, yep I remember that pic, I saw it just yesterday actually. It was around that period where he was toned to fuck, Bruce Lee esque.
yeah, i think one of the Marquez fights had one pretty ridiculous weigh-in pic... i think that'S what people still have in mind. He never looked like that at welter, of course not...
The Fact that Manny Came In Soooooooo LIGHT Tells REED that Margarito is REALLY In for a Beating...Instead of SLOWING Himself Down w/the Extra Weight, Manny Will B COMFORTABLE... Margarita's TAILOR MADE for Manny Pac, as we'll See Tonight... REED:hammert:
