It doesn't matter. Nam beat Spencer convincingly. Period. And he then absolutely destroyed Cody. The fights aren't just 1 round. The "why's" don't really matter. He was the better fighter in both bouts. The guy is limited by he is relaxed, has good pop and doesn't get discouraged. It won't win him the tourney but it's all he needed to get this far.
Spencer didn't do shit. He was ultra aggressive at first and it won him points in the eyes of you and Harold Lederman but other than that 'Nam kicked his ass start to finish.
So you guys are saying prior to Spencer's injuries, he wasnt lighting Nam up with Punches and kicks? Seriously watch the fight again. In fact, just scroll back and few pages where this was already discussed. How memories fade.
He completely was not lighting up Nam with punches and kicks. He landed a few nice low leg kicks which had little to no effect. He threw a lot of punches most of which hit air and some of which hit the guard of Nam. Mid-way through the round Nam turned up the volume to about a 3 and Spencer was instantly lost. Then in the next round he turned it up to a 5 and Spencer was hopeless.
Hmm, well realistically I guess I just like him a lot. I won't go as far as to say I love him, that was an exaggeration. That's reserved for people I actually know, and Duran.
Yep, 100%. He landed a couple of kicks that ad no effect, missed basically all his punches, then started getting slapped around by Nam. It was a 1 sided fight.
No ones saying Nam is great, hes a solid fighter who has great stamina and beat the shit out of the one trick pony. To say both Nams opponents beat themselves is ignorant and probably plain stupid.
I dont see him as solid. IF he ever fights in the UFC regularly, he will be cut after three fights. If not, i will be right here eating my words. But until then, i think the kid stinks.
Solid as in he beat the crap out of all the guys he fought on TUF in everyones opinion except yours. Youre taking it way out of context
He's probably the best guy on Koscheck's team, the only guy on there with 2 wins, and is an overall well rounded fighter. How is that NOT solid? If he wins this show Godfather, are you still going to consider him garbage?
As BIG of a Douchebag as Koscheck is, REED Didn't Really Care for Cody's Back & Forth Verbal Exchanges w/Him...The FACT is, Koshcheck is a WELL ESTABLISHED UFC MMAist, Something Cody WANTS To B...It's No Big Deal, but REED Thinks Cody Should've Shown a Bit More RESPECT to a Guy that's ALREADY Traveled the Road Cody is JUST NOW On.... If Dude Improves his Stand Up @ ALL Though, he's Got a Bright MMA Future... Brookins SHOULD Win, but the Guy that SHOULD Win TUF Almost NEVER Does, Since REED's Been Watching (George Sotiropoulous, CB Dolloway, etc)...Bruce LeRoy is Still a Sleeper...REED Thinks Johnson will B Over the Top AGGRESSIVE, which will Play Right Into Bruce LeRoy's Hands....English is a NICE Guy, but a Level BELOW the Remaining Fighters, in REED's Opinion... REED:mj:
In regards to your first paragraph, I totally disagree REED. Josh started it. When you lower yourself to that juvenile smack talk level, being respected whatever goes out the window, and it's fair game. Cody just responded in kind. Just because Josh is an established fighter Cody is supposed to sit there like a fucking mug and talk shit? No way. He responded as he should. As for your second paragraph, I totally agree. Even Nick Ring last year was pegged to win, as was Dolloway like you said etc. So I guess with that logic I won't be that surprised if Brookins doesn't win, even though he seems like a lock. I agree that Bruce could be a tougher fight than people think, like I said, that Johnson guy seems pretty average actually.
No, Cody SHOULDN'T Subject Himself to Being Koshcheck's Verbal Punching Bag, but Cody Seemed to SEEK those Verbal Altercations @ Times...Again, No Biggie & if that's GENUINELY How Cody is (as Jarhead has Alluded to), then MORE Power to him for Being TRUE to Himself... But to Hear Cody Speaking of FIGHTING Koscheck, Seemed a Bit Outrageous...It Reminds REED of the Rampage/Forrest TUF, when 1 of Rampage's Fighters Got MOUTHY w/Forrest After he Lost a Fight...But Minutes Later, Dude was in the Opposing Locker Room APOLOGIZING to Forrest...Dude Basically Said, "I'm Sorry Forrest, U're ALREADY Where I'm Trying to Get to & I was Out of Line"....RESPECT... Like him or Not, Koscheck has BUSTED HIS ASS to Get where he is, Mex...Cody Should Respect Koscheck's STRUGGLE if Nathan Else....Anybody Else in the House is Fair Game, but when U're Basically a UFC WANNABE, it just Doesn't Look Right to Engage in DAILY Shittalk w/a WORLD CLASS Guy... REEDopcorn:
Haha, I agree that was rather absurd, saying he would give Koscheck a beating. Funny though :: But as far as the other stuff? The way I see it is Josh started it, so he's fair game basically, even if Cody did initiate some of the exchanges AFTER Josh started it. Sure he deserves respect as a fighter, but when you go down to that juvenile level, that kind of goes out of the window in my opinion.
Depends how he wins it. If he wins it similar to how nate diaz won, then yes i will still consider him garbage. I dont think he will win his next fight.
Spot fuckin on. Since when is being solid mean you have to last 3 fights in the UFC? You're being some what ridiculous in this thread Godfather.
If he ever fights in the UFC, outside of the Finale (on the undercard). I expect him to be cut before his third fight. I dont think he is a solid fighter. I can have my opinion just as you can have yours.
But Godfather that's the thing. You can actually be a solid fighter and still get cut fairly easily. We're not saying he is an elite fighter and is going to win the show and get a huge win streak in the UFC, we are merely saying he is a solid fighter, which he is, basically the definition of a solid fighter.
Im not saying he is going to get cut because he isnt solid fighter (which i dont think he is) I just dont see him winning any fights in the UFC. Of course if im wrong i will eat my words. No problem.
Agree with all. Nam fought a smart fight, but I don't see him being a top level guy. Cody has the potential to be a top level guy, but has a ways to go. Brookins seems very solid.
</P> That looked to me like same Jose Aldo who is kicking everyone's ass today. Brookins did well, but Aldo is so freaking quick and good that most people can't get to that level. Not sure if Brookins can or not, but he did have some obvious places (kick defense) to improve that would have helped his chances in the fight.
I see REED's point, but I agree with you. Josh did start it and Cody (and the medic) stepped up to verbally spar with Koscheck because neither of them is bothered by the trash-talking. I'm guessing this is a response to being loyal to St. Pierre for both of them. Even though they know St. Pierre can beat Koscheck up, they also know that he will not respond to Koscheck's taunts. So they fuck around with Koscheck, have some fun with it, and take the heat off of everyone else on their team, particularly St. Pierre. Cody was 12-0 before this fight. That is establishing yourself in mma. He shouldn't be afraid of anyone and that includes Koscheck. And he sure as hell shouldn't have any respect for a prick like Koscheck.
Is it just me or has this been a great season? A lot of interesting story lines, not a lot of drunken madness, some damn good fighters that made it onto the show.....the final 4 combatants of this season look to be the most promising since seasons 1 and 2.
REED's Been Faithfully Watching TUF Since the Serra vs. Hughes Season & the Competency of the FIGHTERS has Been the Best REED has Seen, Bar None.... REED:mj:
