BJ was out of the ring for quite a while now but he looks the best ever, physically now.

looks like green won. i thought flores had a good chance of winning mainly due to his footwork and size.

From what i read it was closer than the official cards but Flores didn't do enough to win it in Australia...

They say the right guy won, maybe more like 115:113 but Flores probably needed 8 clear rounds to get the nod anyways...

BJ was way too tentative. Basically the long and short of it. Boxed well early, but seemed to have no clue what to do when Green decided to fight conservatively. Had every chance to outwork him, but instead nutted up.

Good riddance and enjoy your career as an ESPN Deportes in-studio host.

Not surprsied. Flores isn't good at boxing. He's got on-air talent though.

seems to me like flores never capitalized (financially) on his win over ding-a-ling wilson a few years back. wasn't he offered a title shot at one point (either against cunningham or huck) and turned it down?

It was Adamek. In his defense, the money wasn't spectacular. However, he also turned down eliminators against Enzo Mac and Wayne Braithwaite.

well good thing he turned it down vs. adamek especially if he was getting offered in peanuts.

i'm assuming he made decent money against green going down there.

He did ($160k, plus PPV upside), but that's kind of short-term.

I forgot to add that he also turned down an eliminator w/ Yaon Pablo Hernandez.

the thing is, you can't just look at the payday - unless he had so little confidence in his ability that he didn't want to have to actually earn a title shot. had he defeated Hernandez, he would've been Cunningham's mandatory. That fight could've been part of Sauerland's Cruiserweight Super Six, and BJ would've at least lost to a Top cruiser (arguably the best CW in the world) and have been paid handsomely rather than going out the way he did against a blown up super middle/light heavy.

Agreed. Flores doesn´t seem to have much ambition, otherwise he would have fought for a title a long time ago (and beaten Green today).

I don´t blame him for turning down Adamek though, but Hernandez is a can. He should have taken that fight, although I believe it was supposed to be a WBC eliminator for Wlodarczyk, not Cunningham. Licina just defeated Cora Jr. and is now Cunningham´s mandatory sparring session.

It also seems the Cruiser Super Six is dead for now, and the Sauerland boys proceed with their mandatory defenses.
