Does it really need be pound-for-pound? You could make this match-up at either Light or Welterweight. I think the Lightweight Mosley, though he never got near to facing anyone of Pacquiao's calibre, may've had the edge. His body assaults, handspeed, volume & chin were a special combination at the weight. At Welter, I think it now has to be said Pacquiao is a legitimate discussion-point against even the prime Mosley who decisioned De La Hoya for the title in 2000. Pacquiao's chances would improve there, but would he win it? I call it a pretty close contest. Either man could emerge a winner at 147lbs, IMO (not that I would count out Pacquiao at 135, mind). As unbelievable as that once may've seemed. Edit: I see this is old. My mistake.
I made this fight in 2007...Pacquiao was at 130 getting ready to beat on MAB again.....I didn't know he would become the destroyer of men...
Right, got you. I saw that & edited my post. What do you think? Pacquiao-Mosley in fights at both 135, & 147? Who would you place your money on?
Mosley at both, for all his greatness we haven't seen Pacquiao have to deal w/ a fast aggressive fight who goes to both head and body. At 135 Mosley can really put a hurting on Pacquiao to the body. At 147 it's a lot closer Mosley footwork was never that great and his lack of a jab will make it interesting, I see Pacquiao having some success using the new style he has develop in the last 3-4 fights against the bigger guys. But Mosley aggression, speed, strength, power will once again be the difference...If Cotto and Margarito were able to dent Pac face a bit, Mosley would bust him up nicely.
Manny would beat Shane at Welter...IMO. Too much hand-speed and work-rate for the speedy slick slugger.
well we'd have to gauge this bout as if it were occurring with the version of mosley that had just lost to forrest. taking into account Pacquiao's M.O. as far was when he faces guys. mosley being an american black fighter doesnt bode well for him getting the bout
