I had feared that Martinez might be drained, but judging by weigh in vid.. he looks JUST as fit as he did for the Pavlik fight.

Now I'm excited! War Maravilla! Though my head still says the country bumpkin will pull it out.

I hope Maravilla wins just because a Paul win will once again make the Williams hype machine explode.

The thing is one of these days Paul's shitty defense IS gonna catch up to him. Maravilla has had more time to prepare for this one... so who knows.

My hunch says that fight will be determined late on stamina. Expect Paul to get hit plenty along the way though. Even Kermit the fraud was hitting Paul every single time he let his hands go.

Xplosive, have you noticed how old Martinez suddenly looks?

I'd say in his recent few fights he looks around the 30 mark. In the pre fight photos, he looks closer to 40 now, it's bizarre.

Still, doesn't mean much. Williams has been getting hit more and more recently, his defense does suck. I fancy Martinez by close decision, especially considering I think he won the first fight.

    Should be fun though.

Martinez does look old, but he looked as good as ever vs Pavlik. And in his career he's taken LESS punishment then Paul has.

If Maravilla has the same form he had back in April vs Pav, then Paul is gonna get hit in the face.... ALOT.

I agree, he did look as good as ever, and Paul keeps taking a lot of punishment in every fight.

Paul is a fucking lot tougher than he looks, I'll say that. The skinny country boy sure can lap up the punishment.

Paul is far from being overhyped. He's a solid fighter. I am a fan of him and Martinez and will enjoy the rematch.

This is the most important fight this year. Hopefully Martinez will get a decision tonight.

That's a pretty bold prediction, maybe he stops him on cuts or something.

I say Martinez by SD, but my prediction record for both boxing and mma has be disastrous lately.

Yes, but don't you think it is a little unusual, that this passionate celebration is so unreservedly broad spread,.. there are none of those recogniseable niggles,.. no extinguished hisses of silence,... :crafty: I think there may be quite a few among you

To be sure...there are a few of those sorts here, to be sure. I think that a revision of some of the old adages and perceptions may soon be upon us. That said, Operation Ward is well and truly underway, and may yet establish a strong Yankee Bridgehead.

I'm waiting for the thread,... :crafty:,.. there's crops everywhere else,.. what is taking Fightbeat so long? I mean, credit due,..in all honesty, this forum has always been rather refined and calm,.. but surely somebodies gotta pop sooner or later,..... :crafty:

As for Martinez Arabham... oh dearest dorset,... it'd be like Arabham - Dirrel 2,.. only Dirrel with a sombrero on.

Dirrell is 2 divisions bigger than Martinez with maybe half the balls. Abraham has been on a pretty steep learning curve, if he does Froch without too much damage, I would like to see that fight. Caucasoid vs Caucasoid, in Spain, home of the genome in question.
