"Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful." -Bernard "I Would Never Lose To A Whiteboy" Hopkins

    Hopkins went on....."
"Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful," said Hopkins, according to Fanhouse.com. "I think Floyd Mayweather would pot-shot Pacquiao and bust him up in between the four-to-five punches that Pacquiao throws and then set him up later on down the line."

Pacquiao fought and defeated Joshua Clottey of Ghana earlier this year, but Hopkins discounted that win, saying "Clottey is 'black,' but not a 'black boxer' from the states with a slick style.""

    *************

Perhaps the most ringing endorsement of the Duffy Gene ever? Or just the deluded rantings of a guy who doesn't have HBO or the Internet and hasn't seen the Williams vs Martinez fight?

ESPN have quoted Hopkins as having said it.

It's beyond me why Hopslut didn't use some of his vaunted inner city powers to defeat Jones the first time, and Calzaghe. Maybe Jones and Taylor had that Black Farm-Hand power that is so hard to defeat.:scared2:

    Or even 2008.

Bernard is ready to take on Wladimir. They just need to be reasonable about the location and the money.

It's TRUE that Manny Pac has NEVER Faced a "Slick, Speedy, Black" Fighter...But it's Silly to ASSume that Pac would Automatically LOSE to that Style of Fighter....

No slick, speedy, black fighter has faced Pac, not the other way around. If the fight hasnt come off, you can best believe its not because pac isnt willing to fight.

The irony of all of this is that Hopkins jail-bird, assault committing self has already lost to a pair of country bumpkins in Roy Jones and Jermaine Taylor. Taylor subsequently got stopped by a baccy dipping pale rider from some rustbelt tin-shit town. In the meantime, old Joe "The Snow" Calzaghe comes over from fucking Newbridge, a bastion of sheep-breeding, and decisions Hopkins.

    I think Bernard has slipped.

not sure what slick black fighters there are to talk about aside from floyd. i think pac would've punched holes in guys like kendall holt, derrick gainer, and zahir raheem. plus, all three of those guys are boring as shit.

only other black guy i'd want to see pac fight is probably bradley, but i wouldnt be all that excited about that one either.

    Good one fin.

People are beginning to realize that Pacquiao hasn't faced the speedy slick style of the African American fighter. He's not the best until he's done that. :kidcool:

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Hopkins is a moron and a racist. I'm glad Calzaghe beat his ass.

    Dude...I'm kidding.

Yes...I've brought it to people's attention in the past that Manny hasn't faced an African American fighter..but I've never seriously suggested that he doesn't deserve his accolades on account of that. Look at how I've consistently ranked Pacman in recent discussions. I'm firmly on the Manny bandwagon..picked him over a prime Mosley for example. (I just pick Floyd to beat him)

He hasn't faced African American fighters because there were none that would generate the type of money he got for facing the latino fighters. It's that simple. Besides, you are better off fighting the latinos because they beat the crap out of each other and by the time you face them they are but a shell of their prime conditioning. Generally Black fighters have a style thats hit and don't get hit. Latinos take their deportation law anger into the ring and forget about boxing and just want to hit everything.

Who said he avoided anyone...the fact is he got to P4P # 1 WITHOUT FIGHTING ONE! When has that happened before? He avoided Mosley..conveniently never fought a speedy slick southpaw with power called Zab Judah and didn't want to take a needle to face Floyd (although all other terms were agreed upon).

I'm not saying he ducked anyone....I'm just saying....

Pac needs to face a top American black fighter before he's considered to rank amongst the best of the last 20 years...its clear and it needed to be said.
