Pacquiao could do well offensively, I believe, but he simply would not survive the incoming. The return fire Trinidad would launch is just going to be too damaging, as I see it. The gulf in class is wide enough that this clash could feasibly turn out differently if Tito lacked heart or stamina, but since a bitter will-to-win & tireless endurance were his trademarks (outside of fight-changing power, obviously), he will catch up with Pacman at some point, & when he does... ...KO in seven.
Roach would make sure Pacquiao follow through the simple fight plan to just give him angles and leave that right hand up to protect himself from the Left Hook. Pacquiao by close decision. Manny will not stand and trade with him.
Hard to say. If Pac is content on a decision win then he'd get it. If Pac tries consistently to KO Tito, he'll be KO'd himself.
Pac easy wide UD Tito can't handle speed and or angles. And if Manny is anything he is all speed and angles.
Pacquiao FIGHTS... This prevailing thougth that EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER with speed or slickness beats Tito is ridiculous. Pacquiao is no defensive genius. He's quite available to be hit and always has been, especially with shorts hooks and uppercuts inside. He would NOT go into it to avoid contact. In fact, Pacquiao would INITIATE contact and go after Tito. Thats all I need to know. Trinidad TKO 8
Manny Pac has shown to trade with anyone regardless of size, I dont think it changes here. Tito KHTFO!
I lean toward Tito. Yes it's easy to see how Manny's style gives Tito trouble...that goes without saying however manny DOES get touched up. Always has. Granted it could come late but at some point Manny stands in too long with Tito and gets clobbered. Usually when Tito had you hurt you stayed hurt. Out of all the guys Manny's fought Tito would be the one TRUE puncher who could turn his lights out.
In any fight where a guys only chance is a punchers chance, gimme the other guy. The disparity in foot speed & setting speed would be downright amusing here.
Clottey, Cotto, Margarito all touched Pacquiao up a bit......Trinidad punchers chance is very good. If this was Trinidad vs. Whitaker(prime) then okay the puncher has no chance at all..cause even if he lands something hurtful Whitaker can avoid and recover. Pacquiao gets tag and he taps his gloves together and goes to WAR...
He fought DLH far more cautiously than he fought those guys. So he can fight a disciplined fight when he feels it's warranted. Frankly by that stage DLHs foot speed and setting speed had deteriorated to about the point of a prime Tito. Tito obviously hit way harder and was way more willing to take chances and let his hands go, but his ability to cut the ring off, especially against a south paw was worse as was his defence by a distance. And how many solid shots did Oscar land in that fight? Could Tito land more? Enough more to make the difference? Honestly, I think Pac fights super cautious under Roach's direction and wins a decision. 8-4. I don't think Tito could ever beat an A class fighter with good foot movement, doesn't have the ability.
I know you don't like Tito, but a 2008 De La Hoya is nothing compared to a young welterweight Trinidad. Pacquiao NEVER fights cautiously. I don't know what fight your looking at to back this. Pacman FIGHTS... Always has. He doesn't have good defensive skills. All of Cotto, Margarito, and Clottey hit Pacquiao CLEANLY and marked him up. Margarito at one point hurt him. You mean to tell me that Trinidad wouldn't land if those guys did??? And you mean to say that Pacquiao would just TAKE all Trinidad lands on him???... There are a number of welterweights that beat Trinidad. Pacquiao is not one of them.
Agreed. It was obvious Pacquiao exhibited more caution around De La Hoya than in previous fights, but enough to escape Trinidad, while landing sufficiently to keep him off simultaneously? I cannot see that, being honest. Trinidad is a top-20 all-time Welterweight. As I say, given his limitations, it might be different if Tito had no chin, or was short on either endurance or courage --- but those are some of his finest qualities (the latter two), & he'd keep at it until the very end. Since I question Pacman's ability to really stop him in his tracks, I think he presses forward & gets rewarded at about the midway point of the bout. For all his improvements in skill & cunning, Pacquiao still hasn't worked out a particularly good defensive style. Trinidad is the man to make him pay for it, & pay big.
Nevertheless, it appears we are in the minority on this one --- unthinkable as this match would've been a mere 12-18 months ago.
pac would be on queer street and you know pac prolly packs like 4 inches tops adn Tito more like 7-8 and Tito woudl put it all in his ass!
