like the rest of you guys I thought hatton was dead for a second. it was one of the worst things I've ever seen in a boxing ring. ive hardly been able to watch it since, and not only because I'm a ricky fan
Herol Graham had the EXACT same exaggerated deep breathing. Looked very scary too. It wasn't caused by trauma, per se, it's caused by the mouthpiece restricting the airway when you're knocked the fuck out.
Agreed! Williams looked like a truck ran over him. To make it even worst, his eyes were wide open looking at the canvas while the referee counted him out.
You should talk to Johnny Bos about this. He was there in Gamache's corner and has pretty much been black-balled in New York ever since, for raising a stink about it. Story I got from Johnny was Gatti got on the scale and was obviously over the limit. Somebody on the commission told Gatti to raise his arms...........the scale dipped when he did, they told him to get off the scale and they recorded his weight at the dipping point. Now, anybody who has a weight scale at home. Stand on the scale, and quickly raise your arms. There will be a quick dip in weight before the scale settles back. This is what was done, and they refused to re-weigh him after.
a weight advantage is COMPLETELY different in the lower weight classes... it takes a lot out of you to maintain that minimum weight to begin with... when one fighter is not burdened by that experience of getting down to weight, he has an ENORMOUS advantage on the poor bastard who just spent the last couple of months working hard to make the mark heavyweights never deal with such things
I think Ruddock-Dokes is just as scary as Jackson-Graham I thought Mike Dokes was literally brain dead
you think he was 20 lbs heavier at the weigh in? just because he put on weight after the weigh in doesn't mean anything. that was perfectly legal
they were contracted to weigh no more than 141 within eight hours of the fight... when the fight took place, Gatti weighed 160 pounds you dont gain 19 pounds in less than 8 hours the idea that Gatti was just a few pounds over the limit when they weighed in is preposterous and the judge hearing Gamache's lawsuit agreed
i didn't find where they actually did a weigh in 8 hrs before even if they were supposed to. what did Gatti actually weigh at the weigh in? Any idea?
thats the rub... nobody knows for sure, only that he was over... the weigh in was conducted in the most cynical, dirty way possible
