I fuckin DESPISE all 3 Andre's.... Ward, Dirrell, and Berto. And since two of the three are fighting on Sat(the other has an acting class with Denzel) I might as well make this thread. I'm praying to the boxing god's that Bika & Hernandez do us all a favor and stretch these two fuckin hacks! In fact... in a PERFECT world... Froch, Berto, and Ward would all get KTFO this weekend. One of the three WILL happen, but sadly... its highly unlikely the Andre's will lose. Bika, and Hernadez are both just too damn slow and limited. Cant stop me from hoping though! Hell I'll even settle for 2 outta 3... Froch is gonna get KO'd, so just let ONE of the two Andre's get KO'd and I'll be a VERY happy man. Who else is anti-Andre's?
Berto can be useful later on...for Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto or any other top 147-154... I don't care for Ward and Dirrell....esp. Dirrell who fights like a bitch...and acted like one vs. AA...
I agree, they are both very dislikeable. Dirrell for obvious reasons, basically for being the biggest bitch in boxing. But Ward? He's a legit fighter, no doubt. Better than most of us thought he was. But there's just something about him that's not right, he doesn't seem likeable, and also who can like his hometown only attitude. Why do you not like Ward Xplosive? So yeah I hope they both get KTFO, and Arabham too :kidcool:
Think you might be on suicide watch Sat night. You could go 0-3 and none of your guys even wins. You are really underestimating Froch.
Hernandez can crack with his right hand. So its not TOTALLY outta the realm of possibility. Put it this way... theres a better chance of Hernadez upsetting Berto than there is of Bika upsetting Ward.
I can see Dirrell and Berto losing when they step up. You better keep praying that Andre Ward loses cause that's what it'll take. After a few more tittles when he finally loses you can claim he was "exposed" ::
Never really understood the Berto "hate". All i can tell is he's been over hyped by some. I don't recall it "getting out of hand" either on HBO or this forum. Ward i can take or leave, even though he's accomplished much more. He's a very good boxer but i've never been excited in anticipation to see him fight.
The Thing w/Ward is that he Comes Off as Almost Toooooooooo PERFECT...He's Squeaky Clean to a FAULT...Very Religious, Doesn't Use Profanities, a Dedicated Family Man, Fiercely Loyal to the Trainer he's Had Since Childhood... During 1 of the Fightcamp 360's, Ward was even Complaining about his Young Sons Seeing the Scantily Clad Ringcard Girls...He's Sooooooo PERFECT, it Makes him Seem FAKE.... REED:dancingBaby:
Berto's appearances on HBO have gotten out of hand. Is he entering double-digits appearances on the network with this Hernandez fight? For the quality of opposition he's been fighting, it's embarrassing.
yeah but to wish a guy get kod because he is too "good" is pretty fucking stupid imo! I can see the hate for Margarito or somebody who really deserves it. Ward to me just took a while to get his pro carreer started but he is a pretty good boxer who seems to be a decent dude. To me he comes across pretty humble and a guy that has his priorities in order. I think it reflects in his carreer so far.
Sorry kid. That fight didn't even register with the peeps at Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_2004
In addition to the quality of his opposition, there's really little evidence so far that the guy knows how to fight. Sure, he's athletic and talented, and obviously well trained. But he's sloppy as shit, seems to have no game plan and no fundamentals.
Please! all the holding? you say that like he is Ruiz or something. As if that's how he wins fights. Fucking crazy! :kick: Floyd's style is not the reason he is popular either yet you idolize him. I'm not comparing their styles. But Floyd's style is considered a cowardly running style to many.
PBF almost never holds though. Whether his fights are entertaining or not, at least he relies on foot-work, talent and technique to out-box his opponents, unlike Ward who likes to rush in like a foot-ball player, hold, hit, and basically brawl like he's on a play-ground. It's the most cowardly boxing of all - no faith in his rule-based ability.
Is Bernard Hopkins' Style of Fighting "Cowardly", Because that's who REED would Compare Ward's Style to.... REED:mj:
There's definitely a component of Hopkin's game that is comparable to Ward's style. A good example is his fight with Kieth Holmes (a slap in the face to fans). But while I haven't been a fan of Hopkins in a long time, and don't view his approach to the sport as being impressive or entertaining, he has demonstrated much more skill over the course of his long career than Ward's short career can even hint at. Having said that, Hopkins basically does fight scared and illegally, almost without exception. So in no way do I view any similarities between Ward and Hopkins, however unfair given that Hopkins' accomplishments and performances dwarf those of Ward, as justification or validation regarding Ward's ugly and despicable style. Ward, like so many other fighters who manage to win in the ring without capturing the imaginations of any, and with the help of referees, has managed to morph the sport into something much less compelling. The question is why? How?
To Be Clear, in NO WAY Does Ward Resemble a PRIME Bernard Hopkins...REED was Comparing Ward's Style to that of the the Post-Tito Hopkins... The Answer to your Questions is RING GENERALSHIP...Alot of Guys DON'T Fight "Pretty", Necessarily...But they're EFFECTIVE...That's Andre Ward...The Onus is on Ward's Opponent to Impose his Own RING GENERALSHIP Upon Ward...To PREVENT Ward from "Stinking" Up the Fight... Ward BARELY Has Any Punching Power to Speak of & his Chin is LESS than Stellar (in REED's Opinion)....He HAS to Trick Things Up a Bit, to Be Successful....For Better or Worse, Ward Fights to his STRENGTHS...REED Can't Fault him for that... REED:hammert:
your on crack! Your describing Ruiz. Ward is nothing like that. He is a very skilled fighter, he is smart and agressive. The only knock on him is that he doens't hit that hard. But to suggest that he clinches his way to victories is fucking stupid. Seriously man that shit is not even close.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Berto walks into a right hand from Hernandez. As for Bika's chances? He has a far better shot than Green did. That's for sure. And while he's obviously not as good as Kessler, his style is more advantageous. He will be more than happy to work Ward over in the clinches, and is always careful about going to the body. I wouldn't even think it an upset if Froch were to beat Abraham. Abraham's power should be enough to get the knock-out, but my guess is he'll have trouble winning rounds and will need a stoppage, or at least multiple knock-downs, in order to win.
