This should really be an entertaining card. All of the bouts involve guys that don't mind standing and banging. Something tells me there will be 2 or 3 highlight reel knockouts. Scott Smith drops down to 170 pounds to welcome Paul Daley to Strikeforce. The resurgent Mike Kyle fills in for Overeem and gets a shot at Bigfoot. Kyle fought in Australia just 30 days ago. And the aging Henderson looks to be in for a tough fight against Babalu. Should be good. Main Card Light Heavyweight bout: Benji Radach vs. Ovince St. Preux Heavyweight bout: Antonio Silva vs Mike Kyle Welterweight bout: Paul Daley vs. Scott Smith Middleweight bout: Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Lindland Light Heavyweight bout: Dan Henderson vs. Renato Sobral
It's not really that far fetched. Nick trades with anyone, and has gotten rocked or dropped a lot. His striking works really well on not-too-explosive short guys with short reaches. Daley's on the short side, but overall a better striker than anyone Nick has ever faced. People are acting like nick has fought world beaters for the last few years. He's good, but not as good as people make him out to be.
Soooooooooo UFC had all live fights go to boring ass decisions meanwhile Strikeforce had a brutal knockout after brutal knock out after brutal knock out ? How lucky that I got stuck with UFC ! :(
He was outstuck by Mike Aina. He KOs a glass cannon striker with no chin that dropped him. He eeks by a bloated LW coming off poor performances, showing off his laughable takedown offense in the process. Are you crazy? Of course he beats one of the most explosive and best strikers in MMA today.

This sounds very similar to what you posted before Diaz fought Zaromskis and Shamrock. With that said, Diaz would be smart to get Daley to the ground, he doesn't want to trade with Daley and everyone knows he has zero ground game.
I didn't say anything about Shamrock. I said that about Zarmoskis and that was before he had been hit and his chin was revealed to be Keith Jardine-esque. Also...wishful thinking. And its not like Zaromskis didn't rock Nick and knock him down. He just sucks and couldnt finish.
maybe I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure you told us all Shamrock would kill him, but if you say you didn't I'll take your word. I hate searching for prior posts. To say Zaromskis can't finish and he sucks is pretty juvenile. Zaromskis just isn't good enough to beat Diaz. 90% of WW's in the world aren't good enough to beat Diaz.
TLC, it wasn't wishful thinking, you were pretty cocksure that Zaromskis would win, and he got destroyed. Clearly Nick Diaz is much better than you think. I think him Vs Daley is a pick em fight. By the way, that Daley KO was excellent. Not as brutal as the Lawlor OR Henderson KO's, but much funnier. Instant face plant. If Daley gets an excellent win streak in Strikeforce, I wonder if the UFC change their minds and sign him up.
Zarmoskis also got stretched by Evangelista fucking Cyborg. He sucks dick. And no I never mentioned Shamrock. I dont even think I was here for that fight.
Yes he sucks, which only enforces the fact that you underrate Diaz, seeing as you confidently picked him over Diaz, and said something like "watch, he'll kick Diaz's head into the 10th row".
Zaromskis was still a relatively unknown commodity at the time. All we had to go off was a couple fights with Che Mills that no one saw and his high kick KO streak that won him the DREAM GP. Coincidentally, he rocked Diaz and knocked him down but never threw a head kick.
It amazes me how people continue to underrate Diaz. For his last 4 Strikeforce fights, the typically comment has been "Diaz doesn't have good enough stand-up to beat ________" Yet the guy continues to out strike guys that are known primarily for their striking. Daley will be no different. He'll come into the fight as the best striker Diaz has ever faced and Nick will use his range, volume punching, and the threat of take downs to absolutely make Daley look silly. I can still remember TLC and TFK absolutely giving Diaz no chance against the refined striking of Noons. Well, Diaz was the far superior in the stand up. Diaz is among the best 170 pounders in the world. Period.
Far superior? He eeked a decision against a blown up, relatively inactive fighter. He also took more damage, he only won because he outworked fat Noons with his weak. slow ass arm punches.
Ummm, anyone that actually WATCHED the fight probably remembers the weak, arm-punching Diaz hurting and dropping Noons a couple of times. Nick also hurt him with a couple body shots. Not to mention Noons was out landed almost 3-1. And it's funny you didn't mention the weight BEFORE the fight when you were screaming about how easily Noons would win. Mentioning it AFTER the fight sounds like an excuse. Nice try.
It's ridiculous to go either direction with Diaz, he's neither garbage nor top 10 p4p like some would have you believe. Who has he beaten to be a top 170lber? KJ Noons? He doesn't belong at 170, he's a 155lber. Sakurai would have been a good win 5 years ago, back when he fought at 160. Zaromskis is another 155lber that was overrated as hell coming into that bout. Scott Smith? A bum no matter how much heart he has. Frank Shamrock is an old man with shitty knees. These guys aren't complete cans, but none of them are in the top 10 in any division. The last time he was in a real 170lb division, he didn't exactly dominate. He's better now, but there's no telling how well he'll do in today's UFC 170lb division.
I think you are about right with all this. I would probably put Diaz right around 10 but he is some where probably between 10 and 20. I think a fight with Daley will be fun to watch.
The guy is 6'1" and hasn't hit 155 since the first Noons fight over 3 years ago. He is a legit 170 pounder. And the LAST time Diaz was in the UFC he submitted Josh Neer and stopped Gleason Tibeau with strikes. And then Diaz left the promotion. I'd love to hear the 10 Welterweights that you'd pick to beat Diaz. Personally I'd make him even money with any UFC welterweight outside GSP and Shields. It's really a moot debate. Diaz rubs people the wrong way from a personality perspective and will always be underrated as a result. You can dismiss each of the wins in his current 8 fight streak as bums or cans, but all were experienced fighters and, with the exception of Noons, Diaz stopped them all.
Fixed. In his entire 8 win streak, the guy hasn't fought a live body. Somewhere Fedor is in Russia looking at Nick Diaz record and asking M-1 to line him up another Hong Man Choi to reclaim his status as the number 1 padder in the sport.
