I think Floyd would handle Arguello at any weight, but 135 he might be given the most trouble.

I can never decide who to favour when this match comes up at either 130 or 135! Frustrating.

at 130, Floyd wins a very close decision and has to take more clean shots than he has ever taken in any fight at any weight... at 135, I think he has a bit easier time because Arguello's speed had been reduced considerably by the time he was at lightweight

Obviously, both are great fighters... Floyd may have turned into a shameless picker and chooser, but at 130 especially he was one of the greats ever to compete at that weight... and his stay at lightweight, though brief, was certainly a good one against good comp... that is what makes Floyd a great fighter... even if Floyd never does anything again, never fights Pacquiao, he's still one of the very best junior lightweights ever and his style is the exact type that would drive Alexis Arguello berserk, with some scary moments along the way

at 130 -- Floyd 115-113 type of fight

at 135 -- a more comprehensive and less debateable 116-112 type of affair for Floyd

some people are going to say "Castillo arguably beat Floyd in the first fight, and Arguello was easily twice the fighter he was" but Arguello's style is nothing like Castillo's... if this were Chavez vs. Floyd, theyd have a point

I'd go with a close Floyd decision victory with a few scares along the way.

I must say I like Floyd's footspeed & ability to set & counter on a dime here as well.

If I was betting I'd have the main part of my money on Floyd by decision straddled with Arguello by KO, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Mayweather is pretty darn close to unbeatable at 130, 135 he was pretty damn good too. Gimme Floyd here

Top drawer swarmers like Chavez, Armstrong, Duran, Pryor etc would get the better of Floyd, IMO.

Arguello carried his punching power well from 130 to 135, so it would be interesting to see how a 29 year old Arguello fairs against a 25 year old Mayweather Jnr.

    Agreed.

    Mayweather decisions Arguello though.

I would give him a shot against them, but I would favor those guys over Floyd as well.

And yes, at 130 and 135 Mayweather would beat Arguello. At 130 its very competitive with Floyd's speed edging it.

At 135, Mayweather was still the same fighter he was at 130 IMO with a little less pop on his shots but he would more convincingly beat Arguello here via decision.
