I'm starting this bandwagon because I'm tired of Berto and his hand picked opponents. The guy's been a champion for years now and refuses to step it up. Kermit Cintron is on a site constantly calling him out AND they have the same promoter but of course we'll be given another bum for Berto to fight. Why does HBO continue to allow this to happen?

Anyway sign up if you agree and you're sick of this guy's fraudulence.

Yeah, but that's partly because you've already seen Cintron do it.

But I would be on the tired of seeing the frog on HBO bandwagon.

Cintron would be a step up from all the scrubs Berto has been fighting.

It's funny how Berto was in the running for the Pacquiao fight when he doesnt' even sound like he wants it.

Berto to me doesn't show any desire for greatness. Not to say he would reach greatness. But he is good enough to be making strides by now.

Cintron gets alot of shit but he has repeatedly tried to test himself against good competition.

Cintron was destroyed by Margarito but still rematched the guy to give it another try.

Fucking Berto ran for the hills from Collazo.

Haven't you been starting similar threads about Cintron for years?

Probably. There was a long period there where many posters had Cintron extremely overrated in both ability to win and punching power. He would have never beaten A listers like Cotto or Mosley in a million years but I've always felt he'd be a perfect test for a guy like Berto. To this day I still have no idea who would win between the two.

Anyway I think you and Neil missed my point about Cintron. I'm not exactly clamoring for that fight to get made as much as I'm clamoring for Berto to just fight someone respectable. My point is Berto is a fraud and I don't think enough people are complaining about it.

berto is a talented kid, with a questionable chin, who has the right people behind him. im clamoring for home boys only to show some discretion and pick the right fights to show on television, this has far wider implications than berto

Well that's true but that doesn't mean we can't complain about HBO's and Berto's short comings. So if you want to start a negative bandwagon against "home boys only" be my guest, because I got the Berto side all locked up.

And need I remind people that Khan who has been at it for a shorter period of time than Berto, has already fought tougher challenges.

It's funny that a guy like Floyd deservedly gets knocked for his competition yet Berto seems to get a pass and excuses to boot from this board. I have to say you guys really disappointment me here.

yea, mayweather jr gets knocked even though he took on way tougher challenges in his first 2 years as a pro than berto has yet to match

You must not read many Berto threads. I've never seen him get much of a pass on here.

This is the bit that gets me. Little short-arse Hatton fought, and beat {well on the cards anyways} Collazo back in 2006. Yet here is Berto, this brutal welterweight, and he is enduring similar issues with a Collazo that Mozley handled fairly easily.

Floyd gets knocked for his resume after the second castillo fight...so we're talking 2001 - 2010.

Prior to 2002, no complaints. You could say he didn't fight Freitas and Casamayor but both were Showtime guys and Floyd moved up in weight...can't fault Floyd in this instance.
