135 is shaping up as a great division. We have seen these type of tournaments at higher weight classes like The middle weight tournament in the late 90s with Trinidad, Holmes, Joppy and Hopkins. Can something like this happen at 135 or do promoters get in the way? This division is stacked with talent Gervontae Tank Davis Teofimo Lopez Devin Haney Ryan Garcia
135 is boxing most exciting division by far. Sadly , they pretty much all seem to be a bunch of primadonnas so I doubt we will see a lot of interesting fights unfortunately
if davis garcia happened and there was an emphatic victor (davis via brutal KO) the incentive with mayweather jr to make a fight vs lopez soon would be minute. if garcia somehow won then the incentive would be equally small but at least garcia has the frame to move up for that fight in the future at 140-147 if it was somehow still viable
