Norris fights a guy who is inevitably going to be called a former WW and the best fighter he has ever fought in his life.

Hoya was still more than good enough to knock out Norris

Closer to prime Oscar has a better chance, but I think Norris beats ANY Oscar.

I saw prime Oscar given fits by Oba Carr.

If you think about it, Hoya never really won a fight in which he had his speed neutralized and had to stalk a guy down. He was at his best when he had his edge in speed, and could use his jab from the outside.

Theres no way I can see him outboxing Norris from the outside, so he'd come forward. And lose clearly.

He needs only to land ONE hook and he can turn the fight

It goes both ways... I saw Norris floored and hurt by a JAB from a totally shot former welterweight with less skill and talent than Oscar

Yep, it certainly could happen. The one caveat is that Norris would be very aware of Oscar's left hook. It's basically the only punch Norris would have to fear. That doesn't mean he couldn't or wouldn't land a good one, but it would increase the difficulty factor a lot. Norris certainly wouldn't look past Oscar. Virtually everybody who fought De La Hoya came in top condition against him.

    dude, I hate revisionism

guys like you repeat lies so often on sites like this that over time a lot of dumb people accept them as truth... thats how we wind up with posters like TLC

Let me repeat it one more time for you, since obviously it hasn't sunk in the previous 11 years that I and about 10 other people have been pointing it out:

Those names are SHIT in the context within which Norris faced them

Donald Curry had lost his previous fight by KO, two of his previous four, including to RENE JACQUOT, he was 6 years removed form his prime and his optimum fighting weight... that victory is NOT IMPRESSIVE AT ALL

Ray Leonard??? you can not be serious... that victory is a joke... Leonard was retired for over a year, was OLD, BOXING OLD and in his previous fight had won a boring decision against Roberto Duran in one of the worst fights I've ever watched, pror to that he had "drawn" with another nearly finished relic of his golden days, Thomas Hearns

Meldrick Taylor? this really ought to speak for itself, but I'll humor you... stopping a teensy tiny blown up Jr. Welterweight with an aggressive style and zero power is NOT a notable victory for a truly great or near great fighter... it's a great win for Terry Norris, because Terry Norris's whole career is a littany of such events and Terry Norris was NOT GREAT

Mugabi? I already placed that bullshit in the trash where it belongs in another thread

All of this is a bunch of horseshit spewed by you to make Floyd Mayweather's win over Oscar De La Hoya into a big time achievement (which, sorry to disappoint you, it was not)

I understand all of that (you're preaching to the choir...I'm no TLC). I'm just pointing out that Norris had a habit of beating up older blown up smaller fighters...which is what a 2007 version of Oscar would have been.

BTW Leonard was teh favourite going into that fight if I remember correctly and had won his previous fight dominating Duran who had beaten Barkley who had beaten Hearns etc etc etc

yes, this is called sentimentality... anyone watching that fight knew within about 30 seconds that Leonard was finished as a fighter

in case you didnt notice, I picked Norris to beat THIS DLH

but the Hoya that beat Javier Castillejo? I'd give him a great shot against Norris
