How does the Vargas that gave Felix Trinidad all he can handle do against the Miguel Cotto that TKO'ed Yuri Foreman?

Good fight. Cotto looked fine at 154 and I regard these two as on pretty much exactly the same level. I don't see either causing the other any stylistic issues either....I gotta go with the bigger man basically. Vargas TKO 11.

Cotto looked just fine (I thought the, "shot" calls were a bit much --- Pacquiao would've thumped him as he did whether Cotto had bested Margarito or not), but Foreman under-whelms me. Like Marquez at Welter against Mayweather, there's not much to go on with which to either champion, or dismiss, Cotto at 154lbs. One thing he has over Vargas would be big-fight experience. At just twenty-two, Vargas already had Wright & Quartey on his CV, but that doesn't match-up with Cotto's full list of big fights & major events to date.

Still, I don't think that & Cotto's other advantages would be enough. Vargas was trumpeted as a true star for a while, & not entirely without reason. He was surprisingly-developed by 2000. Size is a factor, partially, in Vargas stopping Cotto in ten.

Fernando for sure. Bigger, stronger, and just as skilled. It would be a battle but Vargas just outguns him.

    Vargas late stoppage.

Vargas by TKO after 6 rounds....

Cotto is more skilled but Vargas is just to big, strong and tough for Cotto at 154...

Foreman fight proves NOTHING...i don't like Cotto chances vs. the other top 154.....
