That's seriously fucked up considering how much money ESPN makes off of boxing. Way to marginalize the sport even more then it already is ESPN. :bears:

Why don't we throw cliff diving in there to while we're at it.

I wonder if they could get away with combining NFL and NHL into "Best Contact-Sport Player"? :dunno:

    I don't get the laugh.

You don't think espn makes money off of boxing? Twice a week in summer, on classic all the time, the contender, not paying shit for programming.

They probably aren't making what they paid for Cayton's collection, but that should have been written off by now.

Didn't they get Cayton's collection for like $1 million? If so they've obviously made that many times over, even without showing 99.9999% of it on air.

It's basically free programming for ESPN Classic at this point.

Or, they could combine the NBA, MLB and Soccer into:

    "Best Handler of Balls"

They should figure out a way for Tiger Woods to win this award, IMO.

    You would think, wouldn't you.

    But reference here: http://www.northjersey.com/page.php...lRUV5eTY2MzY2NTcmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk5

and see that they paid $80 million.

I thought it was like $5 million at the time, but if you look, you'll find $80 million or $100 million as the typical amount.

    Hard to believe, I know.

Wow, I really didn't think they paid anywhere near that amount. Especially since very, very few of the fights actually came with any sort of implied rights.

I guess they couldn't find 5 boxers worthy of the award this year.
