    Here we go again...

A couple of years ago the Academy came up with the idea of adding more 'comercially fan favorites' films to the traditional five Best Picture nominees after the backlash they received for not nominating "The Dark Knight". Except for "Avatar" they have mostly ignored audiences and this year is even worse. Instead of ten, we got nine Best Picture nominees and the 'comercially fan favorites' this year are...Lincoln? The Life of Pi? maybe "Django Unchained"? It seems that any movie that was released before NOVEMBER 2012 got ignored. 2012 biggest box office hit which got some of the best reviews any other movie got last year, "Marvel's The Avengers" only got one nomination for Best Special Effects and I am sure they will even give that award to "Life of Pi". Oh and "The Dark Knight Rises"? Not a single nomination. Both "The Hobbit" and "Skyfall" only got a few nominations on the tecnical categories, but two unknown indie foreign films got the Best Picture nominations? So they expanded the list to add more artsy movies only a few people on the planet have watched? Take the Best Picture winner from last year, "The Artist", for example: the film was seen by few people before it was nominated and even after it won it couldn't gross more than a little bit more than it already did. It is the lowest grossing Best Movie winner in history! Critics loved it. Audiences ignored it.
